Slick, light device, but not without its problems., 2012-08-01

I pre-ordered a couple days before the Nexus 7 came out, and MacMall was estimating at least a week before they could ship one out to me. They ended up shipping only a day or two after Google started shipping directly, so it was a nice surprise. It was shipped relatively securely, with bubble wrap on one side, but the other side of the box was not really protected and a corner of the shipping box had a 2" puncture in it. Luckily, the actual Nexus 7 box was unharmed.
Thankfully, I do not have the following issues with the tablet that others are finding:
- dead pixels (either random or that line of dead pixels) - ghosting - backlight bleeding - touch issues - dead microphone
However, there is what seems to be a prominent issue with the screen being raised (especially on the left side) and creaking on the side bezel. My screen is indeed raised ever so slightly on the left side, maybe about 1mm (vs. the right side being completely flush with the side). It'...

ASUS and Google have come up with one heck of a tablet! The size is just right for daily use. It's light, thin and has a very high quality screen. It's also a very speedy device that plays games and high def videos perfectly. The operating system (Jelly Bean) is so easy to use and is very intuitive. Having the pure OS without a manufacturers skin on top of it makes this such a benefit and since it's a Nexus it's easy to root and customize. I am extremely happy with this tablet! My only complaint is the lack of storage. I really wish that they made a 32BG or 64GB device but with an OTG adapter and thumb drive I can add all of the space I need for media.

I have an iPad 2 and the new iPad. I am pleasantly pleased with my Nexus 7. First of all, I ordered my Nexus when it was back ordered, but still received it in 3 days. The best price on the internet. The N7 responds quickly and the touch flow is smooth. I have not had any freezes or crashes. I did decide to hack it to change the UI from Mobile to Tablet UI, but there is no real reason to. The Mobile UI is so much more user friendly. The size of the N7 is perfect. It is the right size to type using your thumbs. It fits in my blue jeans front pocket. The battery life is about 9 hours. The videos look crystal clear in high def. Best tablet for the money.

Amazon is going to have to work really hard to top this. It has done everything that I want. My only complaint is the back material scratches easily. I already have some light scratches on it.

Great tablet for any one, 2012-08-01

This is my first tablet and i highly recommend it. I had been waiting for it from the time ASUS promised the release of the MEMO 350T. The pre-installed Google apps like mail, maps, chrome are well customized and feel so natural to use. Whether u want it as a reader, video, music play, it delivers at good speeds. The down, i have found is the lack of flash and so web videos wont play and adobe stopped supporting android tablet flash. The other, there is no way of uploading your already available eBooks to Google play account. Thats why i have given it a 4 star, other wise it would get 5 star.

I have had my Nexus 7 for about a week now, I am not very happy with it. Every time I use it for about ten minutes the screen becomes unresponsive and you end up pounding on the screen to make it work. If you reboot, it will be alright again for another ten minutes. I called Google Nexus and they told me I would have to return it to you (macMall) for a replacement because didn't buy it from them. I am going to give it another week to see if it will improve. nexus had me revert back to factory settings to see if that would solve my problems, I and waiting to see if it helps. When I went back to factory settings I lost every thing I had downloaded and had to go download it all again.

I purchased this product after seeing a review and wanted an alternative to the iPad that was smaller and more portable. Love it. I use it everyday and makes checking email, face booking, twitter and even YouTube videos easy to interface with.
I am glad I made the purchase. The only downfall is the orientation is only vertical and not horizontal unless you are watching a video. Outside of that one thing, its worth the money.

When I first got my Nexus 7, I was pleased with the price, performance, size, look, battery life, graphics, build quality, and overall experience. The only thing I was a little disappointed in is that it doesn't run the full tablet user interface like the 10" tablets do. It's a hybrid of the phone and tablet instead and wasn't THAT much more usable than my Galaxy Nexus. However, once I rooted it and edited the DPI setting in build.prop (google it for instructions) to set it to full tablet UI mode, I'm very happy. Everything is smaller now, but I have good eyes and love being able to do the same things as the big tablets, but on a pocket-able tablet. If you could change that setting without having to root, 5 stars right off the bat. But since rooting and changing the setting is pretty easy, 4 stars and happy!
