2. Register for Upgrade
Request your Office for Mac 2011 upgrade by providing your product key and completing the online registration form no later than Dec. 31, 2010. Each request for upgrade must be entered separately.
3. Verify Purchase
You must verify your eligibility for the Technology Guarantee program. To get started, you will need your dated sales receipt.
You will have the option of submitting your sales receipt by digital upload, fax, or forwarding your e-mail receipt from Microsoft or an authorized reseller. For digital submission, its helpful to have your documents digitally uploaded to your computer before beginning the process. Scanned documents, digital photos, and e-mail receipts will be accepted.
4. Receive Upgrade
You will be notified by e-mail when Office for Mac 2011 is available in your country or region and language. You must return to this site to request your upgrade no later than Dec. 31, 2010. You will have the choice to download Office for Mac 2011 at no additional cost, or purchase a DVD.

Entourage doesn't quite function as well for me yet as Outlook, but I am getting use to it. Word and Excel are tremendous and user friendly in the mac style. Some of the features are arranged differently, but the outcome is as good if not better. On the downside, the help menu doesn't always answer the question I am asking, and seems limited. I haven't been able to export the Outlook calendar to entourage yet.
All in all, this is a great product and transfer pc users and new mac users will both find it to be excellent for all things business and fun related.

As a former pc user and used to MS Office 2007, the transition has been smooth. There are many elements to the mac version that I like better than the pc. Entourage doesn't quite function as well for me yet as Outlook, but I am getting use to it. Word and Excel are tremendous and user friendly in the mac style. Some of the features are arranged differently, but the outcome is as good if not better. On the downside, the help menu doesn't always answer the question I am asking, and seems limited. I haven't been able to export the Outlook calendar to entourage yet.
All in all, this is a great product and transfer pc users and new mac users will both find it to be excellent for all things business and fun related.

Kids use MAC at school and need ability to work on files at home. While there are open solutions available this accomodates their existing level of understanding. Software works as advertised albeit with the occasional MS bug or two...

As a software developer, I'm not really a fan of Microsoft products -- they are typically non-conforming, buggy, difficult to use and expensive. But, MS hit one out of the park with MS office 2008 for Mac. I've used the MS office for Windows with dismay and displeasure, but knowing that MS has to adhere to the simple rule of "keep it clean and easy" for Apple's continued quality constraints, MS did just that.
If you are not a fan of MS Office for Windows, be prepared to realize that MS Office 2008 for the Mac is similar, but vastly friendlier and easier to use. Functional items are where they _should_ be instead of buried in a menu -> tab -> button -> tab -> checkbox area. Also, I really like Excel -- the help system has been improved.
One caveat -- I was disappointed that with the purchase of the Home and Student edition, I am unable to connect a MS Exchange mail server with Entourage. I was really hoping I could since I can't stand MS's Outlo...

Overall, Office 2008 is good, but I would have really like to have Office 2007 on the Mac. In fact, Office 2007 for windoze looks and feels like a Mac product. But, Office 2008 feels like Office X, 2001 for system 10/X. Outside of some graphics, its still the same. I use Office 2007 at work and it A Lot better than the drop menus of the older versions of office, including the Mac ones. I was hoping that the 2008 for the Mac would be the same as 2007 for windoze, but nope, it not. Very disappointed. But at least it is workable and I can at least move docs from home to work without too much trouble.
Great product which integrates very nicely with Mac. I like the native *.docx. I use it a couple of times a week and would consider myself an advanced user; No problems yet. I do like both Pages '09 and Office 2008 for different reasons; Different functionality so I still use both. Some functionality is lost between Office 2007 (Windows) and Office 2008 (Mac) but not enough for me to complain about. 2008 seems cleaner and a bit simpler to use than Office 2007, but not as simple as Pages '09 (at least not yet). Good product to have for every Mac owner.

First, I'm using the product on a Mac. Second, I'm upgrading from several years ago. I have had a lot of difficulty in figuring out how to use the new version. I finally bought a crib sheet. I'm sure that user manuals would help, but I think it would be helpful to provide a crib sheet for upgraders.

I upgraded to Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac two months ago and use it mostly for graduate school (I'm working on my Masters in Education). I use mostly Word, PowerPoint and Entourage and find that they work seamlessly with Mac Snow Leopard. I've found the Citation/Bibliography feature in the Word toolbox especially helpful given the amount of research I do. I've been very happy with this product and highly recommend it.
