Recommended for networks of up to 300 users, the 5big Network 2 is the right solution for IT environments looking for high capacity and high transfer speed rates. Thanks to the secure RAID modes, including RAID 5 and RAID 6, the 5big Network 2 enables you to keep data access even if one disk fails. And with room for five disks, the 5big offers more capacity than four-disk solutions in almost every RAID mode. Extra spare disks are available as an option for immediate replacement.

I'm usually more focused on performance than looks when recommending devices for my clients. Thankfully this system has both. The inbuilt redundancies in the 5big help protect the data and the enclosure quite happily sits in the office with the blue status light overseeing all. It's a quiet device too which is an added bonus for some of my clients.

The unit is top quality. Very well built. The aluminum enclosure helps dissipate heat away from the drives. The internal fan helps extract air but it's very quiet I can barely hear it working. The setup was easy. The speeds are good. I'd recommend.

Great, flexible system, 2013-04-25

We needed a new backup solution for our office, to keep our data secure. 5big Network2 turned out to be perfect for us - it's well built, allows flexible setup options and it's reliable. We started with two 2TB drives, and plan to upgrade when we need more storage. In this respect being able to buy a diskless version was a nice bonus.
