This is my second MacBook computer. The new 13" MacBook Pro is replacing my four old black MacBook. The difference is speed is amazing. Everything is faster from boot-up to opening iWorks programs which always seemd slow to open to me. I love the lighted keyboard since I work in dimly lit areas a great deal of the time. You do get some reflection off the glossey screen but a little adjustment talks care of that. I have seen a couple reviews that complained that the screen is not crisp. Putting the MacBook next to the MacBook Pro the Pro looks much better with better resolution, better contrast, and greater screen brightness. I would highly recommend the 13" MacBook Pro if you do not want to play a lot of games on it. The reason I only gave it four stars instead of five was that I was disappointed in MacMall's commitment to advertising. They advertised an additional $10.00 off if you called in your order and dispite numerous attempts never received the additional discount. T...

Tested early, found valuable, 2011-04-22

Just a few days after receiving my new MacBook Pro, we discovered a problem with the Airport card. Tech support was very patient and helpful over the phone as we tried to resolve the issue. When it became apparent the problem was hardware, Apple overnighted us a box with specific instructions on how to return the notebook. We did, it was fixed in a very timely manner, and I received my notebook back immediately. I shipped a broken notebook on Tuesday and received a repaired notebook on Thursday. AppleCare proves that Apple does indeed care about their customers.

I bought the Apple Protection Plan and need to use it.....It is worth buying. I did not by a plan for my mac-book and wish I had....the bezel disintegrated around the corners.

I have a love, but mostly hate relationship with extended warranties. That said Apple Care is one of the best. I know of people who have walked into an Apple store with a fried Mac and walked out with a new one. On my old computer I had a logic board failure that was nearly a disaster but fortunately Apple covered it as my machine was in a series which had substandard parts installed. I did not have Apple Care when it occurred with my old computer and I remember wishing I did! So in the interest of keeping my Apple Karma high I chose Apple Care for the new machine, it's good piece of mind but as I say I hope I never use it!

Even if you never have to use this plan, it is well worth the extra investment in purchasing it. Taking your warranty from 1 to 3 years is great! Apple makes a great, durable, long lasting product, but you never know what might happen. This gives added piece of mind and is an incredible value! I always buy this plan when purchasing a new computer-just in case!

The more I use my "apple / mac stuff" the more amazed and satisfied I am. The array of applications and abilities just as it arrives is almost beyond comprehension, even for those of use who have been using "home" computers since they first became available.
