Introducing Magic Mouse. The world's first Multi-Touch mouse.
It began with iPhone. Then came iPod touch. Then MacBook Pro. Intuitive, smart, dynamic. Multi-Touch technology introduced a remarkably better way to interact with your portable devices ā all using gestures. Now weve reached another milestone by bringing gestures to the desktop with a mouse thats unlike anything ever before. It's called Apple Magic Mouse. It's the world's first Multi-Touch mouse. And while it comes standard with every new iMac, you can also add it to any Bluetooth-enabled Mac for a Multi-Touch makeover.
Seamless Multi-Touch Surface Magic Mouse ā with its low-profile design and seamless top shell ā is so sleek and dramatically different, it brings a whole new feel to the way you get around on your Mac. You cant help but marvel at its smooth, buttonless appearance. Then you touch it and instantly appreciate how good it feels in your hand. But its when you start using Magic Mouse that everything comes together.
The Multi-Touch area covers the top surface of Magic Mouse, and the mouse itself is the button. Scroll in any direction with one finger, swipe through web pages and photos with two, and click and double-click anywhere. Inside Magic Mouse is a chip that tells it exactly what you want to do. Which means Magic Mouse wont confuse a scroll with a swipe. It even knows when youre just resting your hand on it.
Laser-Tracking Engine Magic Mouse uses powerful laser tracking thats far more sensitive and responsive on more surfaces than traditional optical tracking. That means it tracks with precision on nearly every surface ā whether its a table at your favorite cafe or the desk in your home office ā without the need for a mousepad.
Wireless Magic Mouse connects wirelessly to your Mac via Bluetooth, so theres no wire or separate adapter to worry about. Pair Magic Mouse with your Bluetooth-enabled Mac and enjoy a reliable and secure connection up to 33 feet away. When you combine Magic Mouse with the Apple Wireless Keyboard, you create a workspace free of annoying cables.
Make one great gesture after another. Multi-Touch technology on the iPhone and iPod touch introduced a breakthrough way to interact with your content. Magic Mouse, with its Multi-Touch surface, does the same thing for your Mac. When you use gestures, its as if youre touching whats on your screen. For instance, swiping through web pages in Safari gives you the feeling of flicking through pages in a magazine. And scrolling with Magic Mouse isnt your everyday scrolling. It supports momentum scrolling (similar to iPhone and iPod touch), where the scrolling speed is dictated by how fast or slowly you perform the gesture.
Give it your personal touch. Maybe you want scrolling but dont want swiping. Or two-button clicking instead of one. Whatever the case, Magic Mouse works the way you want it to work. All you do is go to the Magic Mouse preference pane in System Preferences to enable or disable features.
The ambidextrous design of Magic Mouse means it fits comfortably in your right hand if youre a righty or in your left hand if youre a lefty. And left-handers can easily swap left and right button functionality using System Preferences.

I LOVE THIS MOUSE!!!, 2009-12-08 09:46:59.9
By cygnus45 ()
Did I get my point across? This new Apple Magic Mouse is Awesome! I've only been using it a couple of days, but it does everything Apple claims and MORE. Until this point I never cared for the Apple mice. They were always one-button, no scroll wheel. Basic mice for the most part.
Now Apple Finally Does something inventive and new with the wireless mouse. They Made it Bluetooth, they made it customizable (one button or two etc...), you can control speed of course, and they made it comfortable. All this is not mentioning adding the seamless multi-touch surface gleaned from the iPhone and iPod Touch. the whole top of the mouse is touch sensitive. To scroll, you just slide your finger in the direction you want to go and it does it (up, down, right, and left). To Swipe (turn pages) or flip through covers in cover flow view, Just use two fingers and swipe across the mouse like flipping magazine pages.
APPLE YOU'VE FINALLY MADE A MOUSE TO BE PROUD OF! (imho)

I am really enjoying my magic mouse..., 2010-03-01 21:28:28.753
By Rocky Oliver ()
The magic mouse is a sexy, sleek pointing device that brings together the best of mac touchpads and mac mouses (mice?). The ability to create various "gestures" is exceptional, and really adds a new dimension to mousing around an application or a browser.
Some people don't like the mouse because it is small; I happen to have smaller hands, so I have no difficulty at all using this device (but I can see how it would be a problem for people with bigger hands).
The biggest revelation I found in using this mouse is that it doesn't set up like a "traditional" mouse, i.e. setting up for "lefties" vs "righties". Then it hit me - the way to effectively use this as a left-handed mouse is to treat it like you do the touchpad, i.e. use two buttons for "right-click", and one click for "left-click". Once I figured this out, it works great for me as a leftie!
Overall I am really enjoying this mouse - it combines my favorite features from touchpads and mice into one sleek, ergon...

Good wireless mouse, 2010-05-20 20:14:25.51
By Tom White ()
I am very happy with the mouse. The touch panel top surface of the mouse provides very good vertical and horizontal scrolling. The batteries provide good life and the mouse lets you know (on the monitor screen) when the batteries are about down.

The Best Mouse to Date, 2010-06-09 16:29:44.3
By T. Myers ()
I was hesitant to order the new Mighty Mouse. The previous model, while useful, did not do enough for me to continue to use it. I can't say the same for this product. Very easy to use, along with the ability to customize as needed, I use it with pleasure. The two finger page return has become second nature. Scrolling a page is an effortless motion with one finger, so smooth. Try it yourself and see.

No Instructions?, 2010-06-09 18:15:02.323
By Renee ()
I'm not sure that my mouse does everything I thought it was supposed to do. I'm not that computer smart and assumed there would be sufficient instructions on how to make it work. Basically, for me, it is just a plain wireless mouse. No bells and whistles. Just a very expensive wireless mouse. I'm sure it has lots of capabilities, but I don't know where to go to learn how to use them or to activate them. I'm a little disappointed as my expectations were high and I thought it would come with instructions.

Great product, 2010-06-09 21:23:25.833

Much more responsive than my first Apple wireless mouse. Does seem to go through batteries too quickly, but perhaps I work too much ;) I would recommend it highly.
