MacBook Air
Now it's even faster than it looks.

With the latest Intel processors and graphics and faster flash storage, the ultimate
everyday notebook is better than ever. Both the 11- and 13-inch MacBook
Air have plenty of power for the things you do every day.

New Intel Core i5 and i7 processors.
A big shift in power.

Integrating a faster processor, more powerful graphics, and a memory controller into a single chip makes for some serious performance. The new Intel HD Graphics 4000 offers up to 60 percent faster graphics - performance you'll really notice in the games you play, the movies you watch, and the FaceTime calls you make. And MacBook Air now supports up to 8GB of memory, so you can run more memory-intensive applications without compromising performance.

Faster all-flash storage.
Even more instant gratification.
Part of what makes MacBook Air so responsive is that it's designed entirely around flash storage. Not only does this make MacBook Air much lighter and more portable than traditional notebooks, it also provides faster access to data and gives you instant-on capability. Available up to 512GB, this next-generation flash storage is up to 4x faster than a traditional 5400-rpm notebook hard drive and faster than the previous-generation MacBook Air. So when you flip open MacBook Air, it starts up in seconds. Even after a month in standby mode, the screen springs to life. Apps launch quickly. And with no moving parts, flash storage stays quiet.

Long-lasting battery.
Instant on. Even after a month off.
Since space-saving flash storage leaves room for a bigger battery, you can devote more time to the things you enjoy most. Things like browsing the web, editing photos, and watching videos. Get up to 5 hours of battery life on a single charge on the 11-inch model and up to 7 hours on the 13-inch model. Put MacBook Air to sleep, and it enters standby mode to conserve battery life for up to 30 days. And with Power Nap - a new feature coming this summer in OS X Mountain Lion - you'll continue to receive new email and calendar invitations while MacBook Air is asleep. When it's connected to a power source, it can download software updates and make backups with Time Machine. So when you come back to your MacBook Air and open it up, it's on in an instant. And everything is right there waiting for you.

Thunderbolt and USB 3.
Make some powerful connections.
With the lightning-fast Thunderbolt port, you can connect your MacBook Air to the latest devices and displays, like the Apple Thunderbolt Display. But that's not the whole story. MacBook Air also comes equipped with two USB 3 ports, so you can connect the latest USB 3 devices and access a pipeline that's up to 10 times faster than USB 2. With just a few connections, MacBook Air transforms from an ultraportable notebook to a complete workstation.

Wireless.
You're free to go.

Your MacBook Air finds available Wi-Fi networks automatically and lets you connect with just a click. So you can browse the web, send email, and print documents no matter where you are. And with Bluetooth technology, you can connect MacBook Air to Bluetooth-enabled devices like speakers and headphones. Even without all the wires, you're totally connected.

Display and camera.
Worth a second look. And a third. And a fourth.

High-resolution display. Millions of pixels. Millimeters thin.

Corner to corner and pixel by pixel, the MacBook Air display is both an engineering feat and a design breakthrough. The display measures a mere 4.86 millimeters (0.19 inch) thin, yet the resolution is so high, you'll feel like you're looking at a much larger screen. And with good reason. The 11-inch MacBook Air features a resolution equal to that of a typical 13-inch notebook, while the 13-inch MacBook Air wows with a resolution equivalent to a typical 15-inch notebook.

720p FaceTime HD camera. Clearly, it's a big deal.

Let your friends and family see more of you with the new 720p FaceTime HD camera. With three times the resolution of the previous FaceTime camera, every smile looks a lot brighter. And the widescreen format means everyone can fit into the picture without having to crowd around the display.

Multi-Touch trackpad.
It goes hand in hand with OS X.

The Multi-Touch gestures in OS X make everything you do on MacBook Air more intuitive, direct, and fun. And the spacious Multi-Touch trackpad is perfectly designed for them, whether it's a three-finger swipe to activate Mission Control or a four-finger pinch to see all your apps in Launchpad. Gesture responses are smooth and realistic. So when you're scrolling up and down a web page or swiping from one full-screen app to another, it's almost like you're touching what you're seeing.

Backlit keyboard.
What you see is what you type.

As incredibly compact as MacBook Air is, it still manages to fit a full-size keyboard that makes typing as natural as it is comfortable. And the keyboard is backlit, so you can type with ease in even the dimmest light. A built-in ambient light sensor detects changes in lighting conditions and adjusts the display and keyboard brightness automatically. From a seat in a sunny cafe to a seat on a cross-country red-eye, you'll always have the perfect lighting for any environment.

Apple 13.3, 2012-07-03
By Joe Brown
I ordered this MacBook Air as a birthday present for my wife. She presently has a 21" I-Mac but when we travel she would have to use my Acer 10" NetBook. She loves her new MacBook Air and is looking forward to our next trip.
Purchasing the MacBook from this store was a very good experience. The salesman was fully versed in the product. The two day Fed-Ex shipping was free. I highly recommend this store.

Great Performance in a Svelte Form Factor, 2012-07-17
By Tim Kridel
This is my third Mac but first MacBook. Two of my main concerns were heat and the fans. After a couple of weeks of ownership, neither is a problem. In fact, I have yet to hear the fans, and the underside barely gets warm.

Thanks to the SSD, this Air is noticeably faster than my 2008 iMAC. It's literally seconds to resume from sleep, and a boot-up takes less than 15 seconds. Word 2008 and Outlook 2011 launch in seconds.

The toughest decision was deciding whether to upgrade the RAM. I went with 8 GB because I keep my machines for a long time -- typically at least five years -- so I've got the headroom to handle a larger OS and larger programs. I typically run Word, Safari, Outlook and iTunes simultaneously, and there's zero lag.

I don't miss the optical drive. When I installed Office, it was pretty straightforward to use my iMac's drive.

I have no experience with Retina displays, so I can't compare the MBA's in that regard. It's sharp enough and rich enough...

Quality, 2012-08-01
By Ezeakial
Truly a work of art as most Apple products are. I would definately recommend maxing out the RAM as this cannot be upgraded in the future, although in my opinion maxing out the storage memory is not necessary. Remember this is a laptop if you need extra storage buy an external hard drive. This way you have the storage space when you needit plus that backup that everybody wishes they had when it's too late.

Great Laptop for Casual User, 2012-08-23
By James
If you are just looking to surf the web and use light applications this is the perfect laptop. Ultra-portable, quick start up, quick open and closing of programs, hasn't gotten bogged down yet (although I did get the extra 4GB of RAM). Battery life is pretty great too! MacMall shipping was very fast and ordering was also very simple. Highly recommended for the casual user.

Light, fast, stylish, secure Macbook Air, 2012-09-01
By Craig
Yes, it's a laptop, but here's what makes this one better than all others:
1) Reliable and predictable - when opened, it turns on. When closed, it turns off. Everytime. No more burning up the backpack because the laptop didn't shut off when you closed it when rushing to board the plane.
2) No spinning drives - yeah, the SSD is small (128 GB), but it's more than ample for my work.
3) Battery life - it lasts all day for me.
4) Secure - most laptop hard drives are NOT encrypted & drives are easily removed. Not with this one - you can't remove the hard drive and the drive is encrypted completely with Mac OSX FileVault2.
5) Touchpad - still superior to every other laptop - you would think somebody would figure out how to imitate Apple's touchpad.

Final note - you should see the looks I get from co-workers and IT professionals when I use my MBA at work. My work laptop stays tethered to its docking station in my office, then I simply use it remotely with Microsoft...

Great Mac!, 2012-09-21
By Matt
I switched to a 2012 MacBook Air from a 2011 15" MacBook Pro (2.0GHz Quad i7). I was nervous to make the switch because I did want something lighter, but didn't want to sacrifice the speed of my MacBook Pro. I purchased the 13.3" which has the same resolution as the 15" MacBook Pro, so I didn't lose on the realestate of the screen. I am very impressed with the speed and do not regret getting rid of my 15" MBP one bit. The solid state drive makes up for the less powerful processor and graphics. The snappiness of the computer is tremendous. I would highly recommend the computer to anyone. One of the biggest problems with my MacBook Pro was the temperature. Sometimes you couldn't have it sitting on your lap because it got so hot. The MacBook Air stays nice and cool. You can sit with it on your lap in the summer without dying of heat.

Buy one....you'll love it!

MBA 2012 with 8GB : Excellent, 2012-11-27
By JP@JAX
As usual with Apple, impressed with whole presentation of packaging the product. This itself makes you realize that you are buying high quality machine, which it is.

I am a Macbook Pro and IMac user for the last 6 years, yet this machine managed to amaze me. Very impressed with performance of machine. SSD does help improve the overall performance and feel of the machine. Wish it was easily upgradable now that SSD prices are dropping down. (MBA does not take SSD drive but has SSD modules which are quite expensive.) Battery last forever :)

I am using this machine for last 2 days and I am hopeful that I will enjoy the experience for many years to come, as I am currently, with 6th year of usage for MBP and iMac.

This store offered best pricing on Black Friday with $75 discount and free copy of Parallel.

Worth paying more for extra RAM, 2012-12-11
By Urmez
I was a bit hesitant first to buy the MBA with the 8GB configuration. However after doing lot of reading online it made sense to get one with higher memory. It truly makes a difference in the long run as well as makes things so fast on your computer.

As always store was great in delivering the product on time as promised and had the best price on this MBA on Cyber Monday. I hope to use this MBA for many years to come.

Best laptop I've ever used, 2012-12-15
By Jim
I was not an Apple fan but have had iPhones since they came out and loved them. I bought this for my wife who does email and surfs the web. She was having the usual slow booting and crashing of Windows so I bought this for Christmas. I set it up for her and couldn't wait for Christmas.. It boots up in seconds and is so easy to use. The keyboard is very well thought out with lighting and a solid feel. Even the power cord has the magnetic plug that goes in either way and an ingenious travel plug adapter. The size and weight are perfect for a laptop and upgraded memory as well. Battery life of 7 hours is a big plus. I purchased the external disc drive and Office, The touchpad is different from PC in that you have to press it to click instead of tapping. It is better because your thumb accidentally dragging across it when typing doesn't move the focus to another area. Some say these are too expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. I am forced to use PC's for work, but I my n...
