Awesome, 2011-12-27
By Zack
I purchased the 13" Macbook Air just before the holidays for my daughter entering college in the fall. I used it while getting it ready, loading on software. Easy and intuitive for me, a long-time PC user with no experience with Mac products. She has had it for a week and absolutely loves it, coming from a small netbook. Can't pry it out of her hands.

External disc drive so-so., 2011-09-30
By JH12
1. When connected to usb port, the drive does not show up in the Finder window. You need to place a cd or dvd in the drive for it to appear.
2. When loading MS Office 2011 for Mac, the disc would not eject claiming it was still in use, even though I had closed all the Office programs. I had to turn off and restart the MacAir it was attached to to allow me to eject. There needs to be a button, such as the F12 on older Macs that allow the drive to eject the disc.

MacBook Air SuperDrive, 2011-10-09
By Harlan Mulford
The drive is well made and runs very, very quietly. I am amazed by how quiet it is during DVD playback. Sometimes I touch it to see if it really is on. I'm not sure how they achieved this. It would be interesting to see how quiet it is during DVD burning.
My only complaint is that it can't handle "mini" DVDs and CDs. When you put a mini-DVD in then the drive just spits it out. It is good that it spits it out though rather than break.

Lucky Mistake, 2012-01-21
By Steve J
I accidentally bought this driver because the one in my six-month old MacMini has been working on and off. This machine, whose title indicates it was designed for an Airbook, works just fine with my MacMIni. Looks good too.
