PNY 6' - USB Cable

I use this six foot USB cable mostly to recharge my iPad. It is working out real well, I now can sit in my favorite chair & use my iPad while it is plugged into the wall & recharging. The cable is long enough to allow me to continue my work. I also like the thickness of the cable. This is a good buy.

The cable worked fine except that the plastic material around the lightning connector is larger than the normal Apple version. My wife has an Apple iPhone 6 with an Otterbox Defender case. As delivered, the lightning connector is too large to fit through the opening in the Otterbox case. I was able to trim a small amount of the plastic material off each side of the connector with a hobby knife so that it was small enough to fit. Be careful as there is only a small amount of material available before you expose the metal side of the connector. Once modified, the connector and cable assembly has worked well. Note that the wire used by PNY is heavier or bulkier than that supplied with the original Apple charging cable.

Did your lightning cable tear and then split? This has happened to three of them in my multiple apple gadget owning family. This cable is thick and meaty, not like those out of the box Apple ones. As an added bonus its six feet long. You can't beat it.

This should have been included in the original package instead of the shorter version. Works perfectly and makes it more convenient to work with an apple product that needs charging while being worked with. No more being confined to a short leash.

This cable is very good. The output plug body is a little bit larger than the standard Apple unit so it may not work well with some tight fitted cases, it works with mine. This cable is going to come in handy for continuous uses where the power jack is not very close. I plan to use in in my vehicle for Map directions since my 12vdc jack is in the console.
