This is an amazing scanner. Makes going paperless so easy! I created a master folder with subfolders, then just scan like mad. You can name each batch and file it where you want. Love it! Just a reminder - if you're scanning sensitive stuff with id theft issues, you may want to scan them directly to an external hard drive or a USB stick and keep it locked up. Although my iMac is encrypted, I still am not keeping things like important papers and tax returns on it. No firewall or encryption system is perfect.
I received the machine and have been operating it for about 3 weeks now, and it has performed flawlessly. I'm taking files from my cabinets and systematically scanning and shredding, and I've already made my way through two drawers of a full four. No problems with loading and scanning -- and the scan quality has been good to great. I'm impressed by its speed and certainty of scan. I would highly recommend this scanner to any an all looking for a quality machine that performs as advertised.
This was the third time I've purchased a Fujitsu SnapScan in the past few years. The previous two occasions were first for a project to turn all of the Board of Director relation documents of a construction company into searchable PDFs. I was skeptical at first that it could scan 25 pages/minute double sided without jamming. I was wrong. The project was a huge success.<br><br>The second instance was for another construction company turning the enormous amount of regulatory documents into searchable PDFs. Again success.<br><br>Now that I'm semi-retired, I find myself buried in medical and insurance documents. I just bought the newest version iX500. I confess I haven't tried the wi-fi or IOS support, but once again I can now see the surface of my desk and had everything ready for doing my taxes. The newest iteration is even more compact, but solid and dependable. It doesn't intrude on my desktop, especially when not in use.<br><br>Nothing compares to this even for personal use. I recommend it to friends and family alike. Bill
I have used the scansnap scanners for several years and been very happy with their performance. I just moved into a new office and needed a wireless scanner due to the office's configuration. Ordered the ix500 wireless scanner and received it the next business day even though I had indicated regular shipping - so very pleasant surprise. Was able to set the scanner up in about 20 min. Works perfectly with my macbook pro. Highly recommend this scanner.
We were looking to go paperless at home. I did research on different scanners before we purchased. The Fujitsu ScanSnap IX500 performs great. It is the easiest scanner I have ever used. The software also works great. It also is reliable, I have not had a single misfeed or jam. It has allowed us to do exactly what we were looking to accomplish. I highly recommend this product!
I used to use a NeatWorks scanner, but it was so slow and constantly getting jammed. The software is awful. Clunky and slow on the Mac. I cannot speak to the PC version. I saw a friend using their Fujitsu scanner with their Mac and it was so fast and trouble-free that my jaw dropped. I dumped my NeatWorks scanner and got this one and I won't look back. The software is really wonderful. I love the ability to scan directly to my Evernote account.<br>This product gets a great, big thumbs up from me.
review of scan snap ix500 for mac I was struggling along with an HP office jet. it was difficult to decide to spend $450 on a single purpose device as a scanner. I read the reviews elsewhere, so many were positive. received machine 10 or so days ago, and just plugged it all in today 10 minutes to set up, no issues. just scanned 65 pages of detailed architectural drawings, feedback. about 60 seconds. all perfect. saved into a folder of my choice. wow.... this machine is really really good. pressed the scan button, and there it is. and a small file size as well it was quite an investment but totally worth it. exciting. iphone type of exciting!
