I bought the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover for my wife's new iPad 3rd Gen. At first she was leary of not being able to adjust the viewing angle, but the groove is cut just right on the Logitech. The iPad can be used in the vertical or horizontal mode, linked immediately and the keys (layout and feel) are excellent. The Ultrathin is about the same depth as the iPad so it doubles the thickness, but you get a smooth aluminum case formed by the back of the iPad and the bottom of the keyboard. A long magnetic hinge holds the iPad to the case for storage. The wife bought a quilted cover to match her outfits and provide a bit more protection. I did add a pen sized stylus to keep finger oils off the viewing surface. I would recommend this keyboard case to anyone looking for an external keyboard to use with their iPad. The keyboard has a great battery and is well built. I have a number of Logitech products and Logitech stands behind them 100%. The design of the keyboard with magnetic groove for the iPad is well thought out. The magnetic hinge securely holds the iPad to the keyboard/case in the closed position. The stylus is also held by the magnetic latch for carry purposes. This is perfect for minimal space, protection of the iPad face during carry and and excellent setup for your lap or a hard surface. The iPad does not have to be in the groove for the keyboard to work, but the distance from user to the surface has proven ideal for us. The only thing missing is protection for the external buttons and the camera lens. It is easy to plug in the iPad and keyboard when closed or in use (iPad in the horizontal position). You will not regret spending a few extra dollars for the value.
