This unit connects to my MacBook Air and enables me to view dvds. It works well with excellent graphics and sound. The only problem was that I could not get the unit to eject the dvd. I called tech support and they recommended that I turn the unit upside down as I ejected it. This worked but hardly seems like it should be necessary.

just what we needed, less cords, audio/video in one
we like to hook up our lap top to our tv to watch movies. We used to have one cord for video and one for audio, and one for our external hard drive... too many cords.<br><br>This is audio and video all in one, so much better!
At first I wasn't sure if this device would work with my Mac because I have an older model (2009). It works better than I expected. Now I can play movies and TV shows from all of my favorite sites on the big screen.
The adapter did what it was supposed to do: connect my MacBook Air to my television for viewing shows downloaded from iTunes on my HD television. Once I plugged the adapter into the MacBook Air easily, and connected the adapter to the television with an HDMI cable, all I needed was a few adjustments in System Preferences:Displays (nothing major), and I was ready to go. The audio and video were great (video was choppy at first, but that resolved after closing other open applications) and I am very pleased.
After weeks of being without an adapter to connect my laptop to my 28 monitor (the first adapter failed after a couple of months), and then purchasing the wrong adapter, I was elated when the KANEX HDMI Mini DisplayPort Adapter arrived. I connected it instantly and just as instantly, it provided the results I sought... crystal clear delivery of my laptop desktop to a much larger display. I can use it on any flat screen TV as well. Time will tell how long this one lasts, but it certainly looks more sturdy than the last one I had. I'm a happy camper!
