What’s good and bad with the Apple Mouse.

This is the third apple mouse I have acquired. they all have the same design defect. Where the wire enters the body of the mouse, it breaks after some time due to flexing at a sharp edge of the mouse shell. This then causes erratic cursor movements on the screen. The people at the genius bar at the apple store know about this problem and can only recommend having a spare apple mouse on hand at all times. I have a different solution.<br>I used a product called "Plasti-Dip" (in white) to brush on a sort of flexible support to the wire about an inch long where it enters the shell of the mouse. It takes about 12 coats to get a stiff enough formation to support the wire. I let each coat dry for about two hours. I used an artist paint brush to apply each coat of "Plasti-Dip" As for the scroll ball, I use a drop of alcohol on the ball, then I turn the mouse over and roll it around on a piece of printer paper before I turn my iMac on, Other than these two issues, I find the apple mouse to be a fine product worthy of recommendation to friends and family.

I would prefer the whole top be used for scrolling rather than just the small ball in the middle front.
