My Choice is the 13" Air
"This is the best Mac I have ever had and I love it. It is fast, lightweight, thin and has exceptional battery life. The Display (non-retina) is just great. Plenty of sharpness, resolution, etc. The SSD is really an excellent feature from the noise, and heat aspects, as well as supporting the longer battery life. I have had no difficulties because of limited port configurations as the WiFi and USB's are really all one needs in today’s online world.
I am a long time Mac user. My most recent (prior to the 13"" Air) was a 2006 MacBook 13"". I was thinking about many options for an upgrade. First I waited for the iPad Mini 2 Retina, but was disappointed with the price and features. Then considered a full sized iPad but that didn't look right for my computer needs. Then I did a lot of comparison between the 13"" MacBook Pro and the 13"" MacBook Air sorting out features, ports, display, etc. The Air won out on cost, weight, and availability at the time I ordered. Perfect products and very cheap price
The MacBook Air was delivered to my address yesterday night. The box is very well and without any damages. This is the old version of Air, which has disappeared on the Apple website. But it is enough for my demand, internet and text editing. The only personal comments on the machine is that its system is still os x 10.7.4, which is too old to automatically upgrade to Mavericks. I have to upgrade it to 10.7.5 by manual and upgrade a key fix of the SSD first. Now the Mavericks has been installed. Everything goes perfectly. Absolutely cool.

Great so far!
Bought for my daughter as a gift. Seems super fast and so light and slim, it is amazing. Bumped to 8GB just to be sure it had some flexibility (though probably didn’t need it). But was only like $100 at this store, so worth it I suppose. Just got the base Hard Drive, figuring if she ever need storage. Can get an external storage anyway. Felt money was better spent on the extra RAM, given the budget. Arrived quickly and securely. Very happy so far!

Excellent computer for basic needs
Best ultraportable laptop I've ever seen. Design is awesome and weighs nothing. Definitely get 8gb ram, it is so fast with the max ram upgrade. Gets hot during multitasking and games, but it's not really designed for that anyways. Great for a basic needs ultraportable laptop. Battery life is excellent. Highly recommend.

Best computer I’ve ever owned
This is an incredible machine. It’s surprisingly fast despite the apparently lower CPU clock speed (perhaps because of the faster RAM, the SSD, and the "turbo boost"). It’s light and minimalist. Although the cables are ridiculously expensive, you can do everything you need through the thunderbolt port. The game changer is the battery life. I’ve gotten 13 hours on this computer before without having to find an outlet. It completely changes the perception of the laptop -- you don’t even think about power, you just take it with you for the day and it runs. 5 stars. This store also did a great job getting this out the door. I ordered it around noon on Friday and got it by 1pm Saturday.

My last Mac was a MacBook Pro 13, which I liked very much. This is my first MacBook Air. At first, my plan was to purchase the Air with the I7 processor. Instead, I increased the memory and went with i5, because of heat concerns.
Since I have had the computer for just a few weeks, these are my limited observations as compared to previous computers: Very fast, great battery (about 10 hours plus) and I like the USB on both sides instead of alongside of each other; easy to take on a trip because of lightness and the terrific battery. My first impression is that the wifi speed is faster. All in all I am happy with the MacBook Air and the purchase experience at this store.

4th Generation MacBook Air....The Best Yet
I have owned 2 other MBAs since 2008. After I retired the other 2, I gave them to a local school. This version is the latest & greatest of the best laptop ever made. It is incredibly light, fast and full featured despite not having a built in DVD drive, an accessory well past its usefulness in 2013, i.e. you don't need one. There are several easy ways to get the contents of a DVD onto your MBA. You can look those methods up for yourself. I have always added Windows capability to my MBAs, at first through Bootcamp, then through VMWare Fusion, now through that marvelous multi-OS program Parallels 8 for Mac. As a traveling business person, in one ultra-light 3 pound package I have the best Mac laptop on the planet with the best OS (Mountain Lion), several necessary Windows only Apps (e.g. PDF Annotator published by Grahl, the absolute best PDF annotation program) that appear right on my Mac's Dock. I also have blazing fast speed with an INTEL low power Haswell processor and 8 GB of RAM. The Haswell gives me Turbo Boost speeds up to 2.6GHz. I also have a fast, quiet and smooth 128GB of Flash Storage, Intel HD Graphics 5000, 12 Hours of Battery Life and the latest, fastest 802.11ac Wi-Fi capabilities. IMO, the MBA would be cheap at twice the price.

Way overdue; oh, why did I wait soooo long?
Just received and started using this MBA 13" after 30 years of PC. What was I thinking???? I just love this thing! Having issues putting it down to the point my wife said she's going to boot me faster than my MBA if I don't give her some attention! I already installed a thunderbolt SSD external drive for moor room, but honestly with icloud, dropbox, etc., don't think I'll really use it much other than for backups. I also stuck in a Sandisk extreme SD card for work file storage. That way no need to drag around the external drive. Avoid lugging too much stuff around at my old age! Arrived in perfect condition, but a tad disappointed it took longer than expected to get here. Purchase on Sunday and didn't arrive until Friday. Who really cares now? This is such a breath of fresh air. I travel all the time, mostly by air and decided that I'm now going to get the 11" for my travel buddy. Guess I'm a real, official cool kid now as I have the iPhone, iPad, and now the MBA!!! Just livin the life! Not sure I'll use it, but think I'll pick up a magic mouse just for giggles!

Excellent laptop, one of the best I’ve owned
This newest 13.3-inch MacBook Air is my first foray into ultrabooks and I’ve gotta say that it’s one of the overall best laptops I’ve ever owned. Looks-wise, I’d be hard pressed to find a laptop that’s sleeker and smoother-looking than the MacBook Air. It’s thinner than I expected and incredibly lightweight, but it doesn’t feel cheaply made either.
I’ve owned a handful of both Windows and Apple laptops, but this MacBook Air is without a doubt the fastest laptop I’ve ever owned. It’s ready to use once I open the lid, no matter how many windows I have open. I’ve tried leaving it on standby for a week and it took less than a second to wake back up. I was pleasantly surprised at the flash storage’s write speeds – installing Photoshop and Illustrator took nearly 50% less time than I was used to and it’s able to zip through saving high-res photos and videos.
One aspect that Apple managed to nail in this laptop is battery life. Out of the box, my MacBook Air had 85% battery left and I managed to consecutively install Parallels, MS Office, and Adobe Creative Suite without needing to plug the laptop in. On a day where I only browse the Web and use iTunes and MS Office, I can squeeze nearly 13 hours of battery life from my MacBook Air.

Fantastic lightweight little machine!
Just bought the MBA 13" and it turned on and ready in just seconds! Something that makes me almost spew blood out of my throat waiting for my old HP Windows 7 that takes almost forever to the ready state. I put away that thing in my old collectible or maybe will just sell it for $50 or $100 bucks for a small offset. The lightweight feature enables me to carry it around like a tablet. The multi gesture on its trackpad is a real wonder, making a touchscreen feature an unnecessary thing (no, you don’t want to make your computer screen dirty and it’s a computer not a tablet). The graphic screen is also another wonder, it is sharp, bright and crisp! Wonder what it will be if it was a retina? Long battery life is really convincing me to work on this thing without the cable clinging to it all the time, the feel is a huge different thing and surprisingly it is so good! Migrating files from my other old MacBook Pro worried me the first time. I finally found out that I can migrate the files without even a single piece of tool like cables, hard drive or CD needed! All was done so perfectly with wireless connection! It was just like a magic cloning a soul of one machine on to another! Wonder if there are many other people who didn’t know about this or it was just me?. The improved 128GB Solid State Drive making this thing works like an ant, completely noiseless, so silent! Eyeing on to the 2TB wireless time machine to backup my files but have to wait to adjust my exhausted budget from buying this MBA. Overall I am very exited, proud and happy to let people know that I have just purchased the greatest machine ever made, and it’s a 13" MacBook Air! Thanks Apple, and thanks to this store!

Fastest laptop I’ve ever owned
I used to think that my 2011 MacBook Air was pretty snappy, but I feel like my new 2013 MacBook would leave it in the dust. Out of the box, the laptop was ready to use in a matter of seconds and it took me less than an hour to move my files from my old MBA. I guess those Haswell processors were a big improvement over the Sandy Bridge processors.
This laptop’s flash storage and memory is pretty amazing. I draw a lot of comics via an Intuos 5 medium (which I configured with my new MBA in about half an hour), and opening up even my heaviest multi-paneled comics took only a matter of minutes. Yesterday I spent around eight hours using the laptop to draw comics and finish a couple of web design templates for my clients, with both Photoshop and Illustrator open and a podcast streaming in the background. Never once did my new MBA freeze up.
Of course the 2013 MacBook Air isn’t exactly cheap, but I think those who buy it will get exactly their money’s worth.

11.6" core i5 8GB RAM 128GM flash
First of all, the service from MacMall was very good. They did give me a call to confirm my order but I expected this because I was having it shipped to my work address. They do mention in the order process that you should add the address you are shipping to but in my AMEX account page there is no option to do that. In any case my mac arrived two days later via ShopRunner.
All that being said I am very impressed with this machine. I went to the Apple store to look at both the 11.6 inch and 13 inch versions. The 13 inch form factor was just not that impressive and the keyboard definitely felt better on the 11.6 inch one. I think this is because the 11.6 keyboard is slightly more compact.
I am coming from a IBM T42 Thinkpad from 2005 so the first thing that impressed me off the bat was the screen. I typically do not like glossy screens but there is much less glare on the Air screen especially compared to the non-retina MacBook Pro. In the Apple store the screen at full brightness was able to overcome the overhead lights.
I have typically considered myself a Windows person but given the recent direction they are taking with Windows 8 (which is complete garbage) I think that moving to a UNIX based OS is a good move. Notwithstanding I was basically ordered to get this to learn Ruby on Rails development. I think I will be happy with it as my main machine

Excellent laptop from Apple, as expected
Seeing as there are virtually no upgrades in the newest MacBook Air's form, I was initially hesitant to get the new MacBook Air. After two weeks of using it, though, I don't know why I even had doubts in the first place. This laptop is the fastest laptop I've ever had the pleasure of using. The new Haswell processors and 256 GB flash storage makes this MacBook Air incredibly quick. It's ready to go once I open it up, and that really comes in useful when I have a lot of stuff to do. I've never experienced any sort of lag, even when I'm running more than five heavy applications.
The MacBook Air's battery life is also amazing. Apple advertised an all-day battery life for this laptop, and it definitely doesn't disappoint. On a couple of occasions, I've had to consciously try to run the battery down so I could charge it. The MacBook Air's battery life and sleek features really make it a great laptop for those weekends when I want to work outside the house.

Apple 11.6" MacBook Air dual-core Intel Core i5
with a macbook air you get a full featured operating system in a lightweight form factor. how cool is that? i never realized it until i got a macbook air. i was leaning towards an ipad or another tablet but finally i chose the mba. i chose it because it's got not just a stripped down version of Apple OS, but a desktop-grade system. meaning, you can do multitasking better. you have a file management system. and everything you've been accustomed to in a desktop PC or a laptop.
well, everything but an optical disc drive. it's a small problem though. who uses a CD nowadays anyways. it's a small thing but would have been a nice option to have. in any case, if the lack of an optical disc drive would translate to a laptop this light, i'd take it. i'd be fine withtout an ODD. i guess i could always get an external disc drive.
as for performance, the macbook air lives up to its promise of battery life. i find it surprising that even with a full OS and nice powerful graphics, my macbook air still records 4 hours or so of operating time. compared to the ipads and to the macbooks this is laughable. but for an ultraportable? this is the best in its class.

In a word, WOW
I've been using a maxed-out MacBook Pro since late 2009 and to be honest, loved it. But when the latest version of the Air (with the backlit keyboard) came out last summer, I knew it was time to upgrade. I've had the Air now for less than a week, but it's everything I was hoping it would be. I'd been concerned that the 1.8Ghz chip would be slower in actual use than the 2.26Ghz chip in my MacBook Pro, but it's anything BUT. I'd also worried that dropping back down to 4GB RAM from 8 would be problematic, but so far I haven't had any issues. I have the same half-dozen applications open all the time that I did on the Pro and there's been no difference in responsiveness. The machine is everything you've read about it: fast, light, and very, very sexy.
Word and Excel, which used to take upwards of 30 seconds to open and "settle" on the Pro, open almost instantaneously and are ready to go. I've also noticed that Adobe Bridge has not yet crashed, something that used to be a several-times-a-day occurrence on the Pro.
As reported elsewhere, the fan does spin up and run loudly when watching flash videos, and certain screen savers also send it into overdrive, but otherwise it stays quiet and cool.
It's obviously a pricey piece of hardware, but in this reviewer's opinion, worth every penny.

Another solid laptop from Apple
An update from my 2007 MacBook Pro was long overdue, and I'm glad I went for this MacBook Air. The dual-core processor is wicked fast, so there's no lag at all, no matter how many files and apps I have open. Boot-up takes only a matter of seconds. I was initially hesitant to go for a MacBook Air because I thought the construction would feel flimsy, but even this 11.6" model feels surprisingly solid. Since it's significantly lighter than my old MBP, I can bring it with me whenever I go out. The 720p HD camera just might be my favorite feature -- makes client calls so much more productive. Like most Mac laptops, this MacBook Air isn't cheap, but I got more than my money's worth.

Amazing lightweight notebook
I’ve had my 13.3” MacBook Air for a couple of months now and I just love every minute of using it. The dual-core, i5 processor is more than sufficient at getting me through my tasks, even those that involve simultaneously editing videos and browsing the Web. It took me a week or so to get the hang of using the Mountain Lion OS, but it’s all been easy from there. Most of the applications I use regularly (e.g. Dropbox, MS Office, Adobe CS) run very smoothly on this OS.
I don’t mind at all that the Air doesn’t have an optical drive; it just means that my Air is light enough for me to carry for hours without strain and thin enough to fit into most of my satchels. This is an excellent feature for people like me who spend hours every day walking or standing during their commute to the office.

MacBook Air: Best laptop I've ever used
I was not an Apple fan but have had iPhones since they came out and loved them. I bought this for my wife who does email and surfs the web. She was having the usual slow booting and crashing of Windows so I bought this for Christmas. I set it up for her and couldn't wait for Christmas. It boots up in seconds and is so easy to use. The keyboard is very well thought out with lighting and a solid feel. Even the power cord has the magnetic plug that goes in either way and comes with an ingenious travel plug adapter.
The size and weight are perfect for a laptop and upgraded memory as well. Battery life of 7 hours is a big plus. I purchased the external disc drive and Office. The touchpad is different from PC in that you have to press it to click instead of tapping. It is better because your thumb accidentally dragging across it when typing doesn't move the focus to another area. Some say these are too expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. I am forced to use PC's for work, but I my next laptop will definitely be a MacBook.

In fact, on my first trip with it, I had not bought a protective cover, so I used a padded mailing envelope. This cool little machine is like having an IPad that runs full programs. I have been using mine for developing iOS apps in Xcode, and the fast speed and responsiveness really make a difference. For the first time ever, I have been able to develop then compile my code just about as fast as I think. My configuration is the 4GB RAM + 128GB SSD memory.

MacBook Air: Just awesome! Get it!
I had a MacBook Pro 2011 with an i5 turboboost. By the first couple of days of using it, I noticed how it lags sometimes, just a little bit, especially after turning it back on from sleep mode, which was pretty annoying. So I sold it and got this 2012 MacBook Air. I’ve had it for 2 weeks now, and I’m pretty amazed by it.
Pros. a lot, I’ll try to mention them all…
1. Now this is one fast laptop, never lags no matter what you do. Sleep mode? Faster than you can click. Restart? Before you can light a cig...
2. Crisp screen - definitely way less glare than MacBook Pro.
3. 720 HD cam perfect for Skype and FaceTime which I use a lot.
4. USB 3.0 is super quick.
5. And the best part, this thing is unbelievably light. Hence the name Air..
6. Speakers are twice as loud as the Pro’s with more deep sound, I can enjoy some bass.
7. The price is the same as the Pro...
I promise, showing off this MacBook Air to a friend with a MacBook Pro is like a slap to the face!
Cons. 2 only
1. Lack of a CD/DVD player, which I don’t mind that much because I rarely use it. 2. Small hard drive.. the reason why this MacBook Air is much faster than the Pro is that it has a solid state drive instead of the traditional hard drive which come very pricey. The standard SSD that comes with it is 128G, you can upgrade it up to 256G, but it will cost a lot of money. Or you can get an external drive or a high capacity thumb drive for very cheap, and store the big stuff on it. This way you can keep it secure and not spend much.
Bottom line.. Buy this laptop. It is worth every penny. And the best place to get it is from this store. It will cost you less and they will ship it fast. just as if you got it from Apple Store for a little bit less.

Great Performance in a Svelte Form Factor
This is my third Mac but first MacBook. Two of my main concerns were heat and the fans. After a couple of weeks of ownership, neither is a problem. In fact, I have yet to hear the fans, and the underside barely gets warm. Thanks to the SSD, this Air is noticeably faster than my 2008 iMAC. It's literally seconds to resume from sleep, and a boot-up takes less than 15 seconds. Word 2008 and Outlook 2011 launch in seconds.
The toughest decision was deciding whether to upgrade the RAM. I went with 8 GB because I keep my machines for a long time -- typically at least five years -- so I've got the headroom to handle a larger OS and larger programs. I typically run Word, Safari, Outlook and iTunes simultaneously, and there's zero lag. I don't miss the optical drive. When I installed Office, it was pretty straightforward to use my iMac's drive.
I have no experience with Retina displays, so I can't compare the MBA's in that regard. It's sharp enough and rich enough for my needs. Bottom line: The MBA provides a great combination of performance, style and value.
