iPad air iPad mini iPad mini with retina iPad 4th Generation iPad 2

Apple iPad

When talk turns to tablets, the iPad inevitably comes to mind. The iPad is designed to be the ultimate on-the-go computer, thanks to a truly lightweight design, powerful processors, fast graphics performance, Retina display technology, and full access to apps for productivity and recreation.

No matter what iPad model you choose, you get a tablet that’s efficient in form and function. To keep up with the needs of tablet users today, the iPad air features iOS 7 and the most advanced components, including the A7 chip, a coprocessor, and the latest wireless connectivity features. Older models such as the iPad 3 and the iPad 4 are still equipped to deliver a smoother performance than most tablets today.

The iPad mini is just as reliable as ever, with the latest iPad mini with Retina display offering a 7.9-inch screen and a crisp 2048-by-1536 resolution for the most accurate display of colors and details on a small tablet. The latest iPad minis and previous-generation iPad minis are equally efficient, with high-performance chips that not only ensure hassle-free performance but also enable all-day use.

iPad air

The fastest performance from the lightest iPad yet

The iPad air offers all the features you want in a fast, high-performance tablet: a lightweight body, the most efficient processors and wireless technology, and Apple’s most intuitive mobile OS.

Slim unibody construction
The iPad air sports an all-new unibody construction that’s not only slimmer but also feels more solid. Since the iPad air weighs just one pound, it’s also easier to carry around than previous-generation iPads.

Two powerful processors
The iPad air’s fast performance is powered by two processors: the A7 chip and the M7 coprocessor. The A7 chip is Apple’s most powerful mobile processor, while the M7 motion coprocessor is designed to offload work from the A7 chip.

Ultra-fast wireless technology
The iPad air is designed to enable the fastest wireless connections through dual antennas, MIMO (multiple-in multiple-out) technology, and dual-band WiFi. Through this hardware, the iPad air provides double the data rate of previous-generation iPads.

Retina display and iOS 7
The iPad air features Retina display and iOS 7, two technologies that make the user experience more enjoyable. iOS 7 ensures a smoother performance, as well as access to over 450000 apps from the App Store, while the Retina display provides for sharper details and colors that pop.

From the most efficient mobile processors to the latest display technology from Apple, the iPad mini is equipped with all the makings of a powerful small tablet.

Latest and greatest in tablet world

"Too early to say much, but my new iPad mini appears to be at least what I expected. I've owned the original iPad, and my wife and daughters now each have their own full-size iPad. This year I bought a Nexus 7, which sold me on the 7 inch form factor. For the world of Google and personal information, it's hard to beat the Nexus 7. But the best apps, especially for a musician, are on iOS.

The iPad mini ain't cheap, but so far it's much, much faster than other tablets I've owned. The display is great, and really comes across when you see the Kindle app pages. I've used MacMall before. This was a good buying experience over the phone, but not great. It took at least 20 minutes to get everything that seemed fairly routine taken care of. The shipping was faster than expected. Overall, I'm satisfied. "

IPad mini Wi-Fi

This was an excellent choice for my wife. The iPad mini was easy to set up and she was productive within an hour. Most of the time was spent in learning about the mini and its capabilities. We bought the mini because we recently toured our Western National Parks and a woman on the tour had a mini. It took beautiful pictures and the retina display was quite a bit brighter than my iPad 2, making it easier to see the screen in bright sunlight. Any pictures can quickly be e-mailed to friends & relatives. I thought the screen would be a little small but notice very little difference compared to my iPad 2. The mini is fast and the e-mail screens are much less cluttered and easier to use than accessing the e-mail sites on a PC laptop. Maybe that is an Apple thing.

New to the game

Other than computers, this is the first 'smart' device I have owned, so I am still getting used to it. I read a lot of news items on the internet and, until now, I had to be sitting in front of a computer. Quite often, I printed news items so I could read them while waiting for the doctor, my wife, etc. Now I have the best of both worlds. I can read things in real time, download them for when I have no Internet connection or read in bed if I like. My daughter-in-law said I should have bought it a long time ago. She is right, of course, but I won't admit it to her just yet.

Apple iPad

I am new to the iPad but I think it is a really good product. My one complaint is no instructions booklets, not even to get you started. It was pretty much learn as you go. I could not print one off the internet because I didn't know how to make it print. I ended up printing it from my Mac desktop computer. Then I bought a "Dummies" book and after that, everything was easy. I think with as much as you pay for an iPad, a complete instruction booklet should come with it. Apple should address this issue because we are not all teenagers and this new technology does not come naturally. But overall, the iPad is a great product, but a little pricey compared to similar tablets that can basically do the same thing. If you can afford it, I would highly recommend it.

Great little engine that could

I bought this iPad mini after using the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 for a week with frustration. I returned the latter and bought the iPad mini from MacMall instead. I already owned 3 iPads (bought all of them from MacMall(, but this time around I bought the mini for my daughter. She fell in love with it immediately. What attracted me to the mini is the screen size; it is 8 inches compared to the competitor's 7 inches devices. The screen is crisp, and performance is great. Even with the quad core CPU in the Galaxy, it exhibits a lag in performance when compared to the mini. I personally still prefer a 10 inch screen because my eye muscles are not as good as I used to have. But it is great for younger consumer like my kids. I got the free MacMall bundle when I bought mini. The ear phones are okay but not great. They lack bass present in the regular Apple's earphone.

I love my iPad 2 3G

I am a retired 71 year old female. I had the original Pad with wi-fi, I just upgraded to the iPad 2 with 3G. I have a new 21 inch iMac and a new 15 inch MacBook Pro, all bought from MacMall.

I really like the speed the iPad connects to the internet. I do not have to wait for the computer to start up, the iPad connects instantly. The photos are not the same as an expensive camera but I can take a quick picture and email it immediately and the photos are good, some are very good! The ones of the twin baby deer in the front yard are just precious.

When I am in the car I can get a map instantly or find a store or restaurant in the area, I can check the weather, I can check my e-mail, answer an e-mail or write a letter and it will be printed out when I get home, I can play a game, I can read a book, I can play my music, I can read a recipe and make a list of ingredients I need from the grocery store, I can watch a movie, I can do so many things with my iPad in my purse.

Yes I have a smart phone, but it is so much easier to read the large print and I don't have any of those annoying phone calls to contend with. I can read in bed or play a game (with the sound off) without bothering my husband’s sleep and, unlike a laptop, it is very lightweight to use.

I have always liked gadgets and new inventions like my electric typewriter 40 years ago and my first Apple computer20 years ago but I don't know how they are going to top this nifty little machine.

Excellent product

I use the iPad principally for Web browsing, email, newspaper, and eBook reading. The retina display is spectacular -- every bit as good as a paper book, allowing one to read for many hours without difficulty. Photographs rival hard copy prints in clarity and color saturation. I prefer the lighted screen that adjusts its brightness to a passive LCD display because I use the iPad mostly in conditions that are not in bright sunlight.

The navigation tools are also extremely useful. It is packed with genuinely useful apps and offers a virtually limitless variety of downloadable apps. I use this device more than I use my desktop computer because it is always instantly on, portable, and very easy to use.

iPad 2 64 GB Wi-Fi Black

Great product, lightweight and super compact. Processor speed may be slower than iPad 3, but I can’t tell the difference. And the camera on iPad 3 is better, but I don’t use the camera since I have a Canon PowerShot 20 megapixel, not to mention a cell phone with 8 megapixel. Besides, it’s cumbersome to use the iPad as a camera. I feel it to be a bit large for that. As for the iPad screen, it’s definitely better on the iPad 3. But the screen on the iPad 2 is no slouch, so I’m really happy with the product, not to mention the great deal I got from this store. Big Big Big Savings! A lot of extras too, ie. 6 mos same as cash, free Fed-Ex overnight shipping, free engraving, and $20.00 off the already low price of $547.00 and the Great Service from this store, What a Deal!!!!!

Apple iPad 3 Wifi 64GB

This is an excellent tablet. I was waiting on Android to get it together. A little bit afraid to take the Apple plunge since Windows and Android were the only two I have used. After finally deciding and going with the 64GB Wifi model, I have to say I love it. Little bit different thinking on some things, but the iPad 3 is fast, the screen is gorgeous, and the battery life is excellent. I usually carry several movies, games and my music when I travel or even just around the house. I am very pleased with the choice I made and this is a great product.

iPad2 review

Only had it for a little over a week. Still new to Apple so a bit of a learning curve after years of PC use. I really like my iPad so far. I wish it had a SB Card slot and a USB card slot but I plan to buy the adapter kit. Battery life is good. I need to read up on the tips and tricks for switching from PC TO Mac. I've been too busy using it to read up on how to use it. Give me a couple months and I will be a power user and then I can give you a better review. Apple products are definitely pricier than PC stuff but very innovative and user friendly. Have yet to have a program crash. I have no idea if I have any viruses or malware but it seems to be running fine. Both my iPad and my iMac are very fast as compared to my PCs. So far I am glad I made the switch.

What fun!

Love the Ipad 2 however the following improvements need to be made: 3G is too expensive for such minimal usage; printing capabilities need to be improved; flash needs to be installed and a Bluetooth keyboard should be thrown in. Yes, Bluetooth. Do not buy the mac wireless keyboard as it can only be set up in portrait. After reading a tech geek's blog about "How to turn your Ipad 2 into a laptop in an emergency." he suggested a Bluetooth keyboard. I bought the Blurex leather case (Check Amazon, that's where I purchased it) with detachable Bluetooth keyboard and I am thrilled. It is the only Ipad 2 keyboard that simulates a laptop keyboard. The case is beautiful, the Ipad is maintained in landscape and the typing couldn't be easier. As for a mouse, you still need to touch; neither the geek nor I have found a substitute as yet. Soooooo..... a tech friend of mine said I should have held out for the Ipad 3, however I will wait for the 9 or the 10 seeing that apple is introducing one about every 6 or 7 months. My wish----that the tablet is innovative enough as to replace the laptop. It’s small and extremely portable, similar to a hard cover book when in the Blurex cover.

The Greatest Do Everything All in a Tiny Little Box

The iPad has to be the best invention of all time. Steve Jobs is truly a genius. I love this and take it everywhere I go. I have done almost everything on it. My work, I've made phone calls, text folks, did my banking, read the morning newspaper, played games, crosswords, watched movies & TV, changed the channel on my television set in every room, took pictures, Maps, recorded meetings and printed everything with my iPad. The list goes on and on.

As I have stated first this is absolutely by far the BEST Invention ever. I can only hope that they continue to bring new apps to the ipad so it will truly become non stoppable. Thanks Steve Jobs and thanks MacMall for great service and great employees. The delivery was fast and safe and your customer service personnel that I've contacted was on point. I will definitely tell my family and friends to come shop with your company again and again.

Expensive but worth it.

Once you start using it is hard to put down. It definitely is not a computer but gives excellent internet access. The photo program needs some work to allow setting up folders and moving pictures around. The photo display is very good. Ipod functions well although you need an Intel processor Mac to sync with Power PC itunes although you can down load from itunes store over the internet. The battery life is excellent. I charge it overnight and use it off and on all day and still have 50% charge left. In between uses I close their cover protector and it goes to sleep using no power. Upon opening the cover it is right where I left it to continue the task.

I definitely recommend going into an Apple store for initial setup. It is about a half hour very well spent to understand the basic use of the ipad. The instruction manual download is good but doesn't cover some of the ways things work. It will take about a week or two to really learn how to use it and get it set up for e-mail and Safari. It would help to have some file support to see how much usage iphoto, itunes etc. takes.

Awesome

We needed an extra computer at our Gun Store to be able to access our distributors websites in order to place orders and research products for our customers. We couldn't afford a new computer, so we saw the iPad on sale and gave it a shot. It has been wonderful! It has cleared up the wait for the main computer and we have been able to access everything we need to, to provide help to our customers. We have downloaded a few apps for business purposes too. We connect via wi-fi but later down the road may try the 3G. It is so fast right now that it’s not really needed. I would definitely purchase another one. It is so handy and convenient to take almost anywhere. We have taken it to dinner and when the kids start to get unruly, we just throw on a movie. I don't have to drag my laptop home every night like I used to because I can do quite a bit on the iPad. It’s awesome, it’s wonderful, and I would highly recommend this product!

iPad 2 is Fantastic

I have the iPad 2 black 32 GB wifi version for almost 2 weeks and it has been a great addition to our ever growing electronic family. The new version is lighter and thinner than the past model which makes it easier to hold. My wife, who does not like computers, has grown attached to the iPad 2 with how easy it is to use. She now checks emails and searches the internet. With the ever growing apps store the iPad 2 easily beats the competition. Let's face it, for a tablet to be functional it really is all about the apps and the iPad is way ahead of everyone else in both the number and quality of the apps that are offered. Top rating for Apple for improving on an already great product. The addition of cameras, Facetime, faster processor and the gyroscope are all nice additions as well as the lighter and thinner form factor. Steve Jobs said the iPad is magically and I couldn't agree more.

Great tablet, lots of improvements over the original iPad

This new iPad 2 is a great tablet overall! It is one step forward compared to the original iPad. It now has web cameras, which allows for video chatting with the front camera - use the FaceTime - and also allows taking pictures and HD video with the rear camera! It is also lighter and looks sleeker compared to the previous model. The overall experience is the same, though, so if you have owned the first iPad you will very easily get used to this one as it is almost identical in the way you use it - icons, menus, settings.

I recommend you also get the digital HDMI cable connector to be able to connect to an HDTV via HDMI cable, MacMall sells it, I think for about $39, and of course get one of the Apple covers. You won't regret it. It is very helpful to have one of those covers, which also can be used as a tablet stand and more...

And finally, I would like to praise MacMall - they are absolutely amazing. They took my order on the phone fast and politely. I received the iPad 2 after a couple of days (and the cover and the digital HDMI connector) and everything was packaged very well! Also I received free shipping and no state tax on my final price! I recommend the iPad 2 to anyone and definitely buy i from MacMall!

Wow!

Extremely impressed with this product. Only have one wish which I fear to be impossible - it is heavy for reading iBooks while lying in bed. The impossible part would be to make it more like 8 to 12 ounces and retain its current form factor. The few ounces shaved from the weight in the new Ipad would not have benefitted me in this way. The camera aspect wasn't needed as it is wifi only and I use Facebook with my Imac

I love the screen, love its potential uses, and am very happy with the few apps I have downloaded. I am grateful Apple does the due diligence to keep my Apple products virus- and malware-free. I must still keep an MS system laptop computer for work related issues I bring home. I let my girlfriend's daughter check her Facebook and ended up with a virus after she downloaded a YouTube video to watch.

Another Fine product

Over the last four or five years, I have come to be a real apple fan. I think the success of this product as well all the other apple products is due to the fact that they simply work well, and that quality is not compromised in favor of cost. In a world where you truly get what you pay for, I will not hesitate to pay the premium for apple brand products. While the ipad is no substitute for a business class laptop computer, it is an excellent traveling companion and will provide more than adequate communication, light computing and entertainment.

Another fantastic product

I bought the iPad as a Christmas gift for my wife. She is overjoyed with it. In our home we already have an iPhone 3 and MacBook (mine) and an iPod touch, iPhone 4, Mac desktop and a Dell laptop (my wife's). She works from our home with the desktop upstairs and the Dell (company supplied) downstairs. Since firing up the iPad the Dell is sitting in a cold corner where it belongs. Wife was already using the Kindle App on her iPhone and immediately loved it on her iPad. She also loves the way it comes on instantly, unlike her Dell. There have been no issues with the iPad and it seamlessly integrated into our home. We do cheat a little bit as we use an airport express, and apple TV for wireless access. We also have our itunes accounts on her apple desktop and my macbook so integrating another apple product is ridiculously easy. The short learning curve involved with the virtual keyboard had already been done with the iphone so even that little bit of time didn't happen. She literally picked it up and began using it like they had known each other all their lives. The best way to describe it is a combination of the best parts of an iphone, ipod and a laptop, while losing the negatives of screen size or weight.

Apple New iPad with Wi-Fi 32GB - Black (3rd generation) (MC706LL/A)

What is the best app to use when creating presentations on the iPad?

Asked By Mike Peek | Apr 22, 2012
Best Answer
Keynote. It is available at the Apple App Store for $9.99. I’ve never been a Mac user before the iPad, but I must say that I got to like Keynote immediately after buying it from the App Store. It is really easy to use. I have it on my iPad as well as on my iPhone. It is synced between the two devices via iCloud. Sometimes when I need to do a last-minute edit on my presentation, I could do it on the small screen of the iPhone with relative ease. The Keynote is that easy to use, that even though you have small scree real estate to work with you can work with your presentation. There are other apps, as well, like the DocumentsToGo suite. But my money is on Apple. Who better write apps than the company that created the device.

Why buy an iPad vs. MacBook?

Asked By Paul B. Carmichael | Apr 11, 2012
Best Answer
Best Answer: It’s more of a “what works for you” sort of thing. I got the iPad because I wanted the form factor. It is light and easy to carry, but it can do a lot of thing. Definitely not all that a MacBook can do, but the iPad does enough to make me consider it as a second device. I needed a second device, next to my iMac, to check my emails, surf the Web and other light computing tasks. A MacBook Air would, of course, cut it for me. But I figured I could do all those stuff more conveniently using an iPad. The battery life of the iPad, which is longer than MacBooks, is also a factor. It gives me almost an all-day computing that I rarely got to use my iMac nowadays.

Does the new iPad take as good pictures as the iPhone 4s?

Asked By Jeremy Hill | May 2, 2012
Best Answer
I would have been happy if Apple just used the iPad 2 camera specs on the new iPad. It is unlikely that I would need to snap a shot using an iPad anyway. But Apple improved the iPad 2 camera on the new iPad, probably to generate more sales. And it is a huge improvement, as far as I can tell. Between the new iPad and the iPhone 4S, though, the iPhone 4S camera is still better. They both have iSight, but the new iPad has 5MP whereas the iPhone 4S’s has 8MP. Photos from the new iPad, using the rear camera, does not quite match the contrast and saturation quality of iPhone 4S photos.

Can I transfer files from my old iPad to my new iPad?

Asked By Michael Lee | May 3, 2012
Best Answer
You have a few options. You can create a backup of your old iPad settings and then sync it with your new iPad via iTunes. Or you can do it wirelessly and let iCloud do the transfer for you. However, the second option will only let you sync files on authorized programs such as Pages, Numbers, iPod, Movies, Contacts, etc. If you use a different program, say GoodPlayer for movies, it may not be supported by iCloud and you can’t expect it to transfer your files. Your best option would be to create a backup and then sync it on your new iPad.

Should I upgrade my iPad 1 to the new one?

Asked By Bill Rudess | May 12, 2012
Best Answer
I love the new iPad. Maybe you will, too. So far, the new iPad has been one of my best tech purchases. I came from the iPad 2 and I’m glad I upgraded. The new iPad is faster and more graphics-friendly. A lot has changed since the iPad 1. Also, if you’re a heavy apps user and have invested on a lot of them, it would be nice to still have the future versions of your apps. They would only get more processor-intensive and a time would come when they might not be updateable on your iPad 1 because of processor requirements.
