Wacom Cintiq 22HD Touch - 21.5" Interactive Pen Display (DTH2200)

Cintiq 22HD - Amazing graphic tablet

The Cintiq 22HD is one of the best graphic tablets I’ve ever used, and I’ve been using tablets for nearly a decade. I’ve been using the 22HD since November and it’s probably the only device I’d recommend to any professional digital artist.

The first thing I love about this tablet is its size – lots of screen space to work on and, with the stand, fits great on a regular-sized desk. Might be a tight fit if you have dual monitors, though. The stand also inclines nicely, so my back doesn’t act up much while I’m using the tablet. More importantly, the screen also displays vibrant colors and the resolution appears to be crisp, so it’s great for adding in or tweaking the smallest details on my work.

The pen fits great in my hand and is very sensitive to pressure, so the slightest gestures translate themselves on screen. I have to say, I’ve really been enjoying all the extra buttons on the tablet. I’ve programmed all of them so I don’t have to use a keyboard that much while I’m using the tablet.

Great little tablet for first-time users

I'd been using an old Bamboo for the longest time and I was probably a year overdue for an upgrade. So when I saw the great price on the 13HD here, I grabbed the chance to upgrade to my first tablet with an LCD screen.

The 22HD and 24HD were too big for my little workspace. This tablet is the perfect size for my desk, while still giving me lots of screen space. Setup with my Windows 8 PC took a couple of minutes. I was quite nervous that it would take me a while to adjust to a tablet with its own screen, but a couple hours' practice was all it took for me to love it. The pen was very responsive and there's no delay at all between you making the gestures and the lines showing on-screen.

Accuracy, even at 2-pixel brushes, was amazing, too. This is essential for artists who, like me, do a great deal of sketching. I haven't been able to reprogram the extra buttons on the side, but the built-in functions are pretty convenient. All in all, this is a great device for artists who are first-time users of tablets with LCD screens and who have limited desk space.

Worth Every Penny

I bought the Cintiq because for years and years I said that I'd buy one if the 'on screen' tablet also had Touch. Finally, on August 16th or so, Wacom released the CintiqHD Touch and my requirements were met so I purchased it. After quite a few hours of usage, I'm very happy with the product. When it came in the box, I was actually surprised by how large it was. I was expecting the screen and tablet to be 3 to 5 inches smaller.

Before this item was available I had contacted customer support to see when it would ship. I received a very detailed and informed reply on the product and the ship date. The product arrived a week earlier than promised.

The item was well packed and easy to unload and set up. The instructions were very clear and installation had no issues. I am not the artist. I bought this for my daughter. Based on her evaluation the Cintiq 24HD Touch exceeded her wildest expectations. Her previous experience was a 12.1" digital screen.

Most people interested in this kind of equipment are probably already aware, but you do need to connect the Cintiq 24HD touch to a workstation graphics card through the display port in order to experience the full 1.07 billion color capability. A display port on a gamer card will not do.

If you are a digital artist, get this NOW!

I was apprehensive about spending this much on a drawing tablet. After all I had a Wacom Intuos 3, but I researched, read reviews, looked at videos and after 6 months of wavering purchased one. It is fantastic! The 24HD does everything it says it does and the ability to work directly on the screen is incredible. The time saved by working faster is worth the price, and you will work 5 times better! Save your pennies, skip a vacation, use your credit line, but if you paint digitally get one. Don't wait for the price to come down.

Worth it!

I'm upgrading from a Cintiq 12WX, the 24 HD is simply worth it to get because of the extra screen real estate. I've done freelance work on my previous Cintiq and have noticed that the colors were all wrong on my separate monitor but with the 24 HD I don't have that problem because of the 93% RGB. I also want to note something really important which is you can color calibrate this so both your monitors can be on the same page. Ever since I got my cintiq I notice I'm playing more with my computer just because the monitor so cool it just invites you to play with it. Definitely save up your money and buy this if you're in the field.

On a side note customer service with MacMall was great. I had an issue with being overcharged for shipping but as soon as I got my package they refunded me the difference.

First off, I would like to say how helpful the staff at MacMall was helping me get this order. There were some issues with shipping & then my bank, but they were extremely helpful through it all.

The Cintiq was a Christmas present for my wife who had wanted one of these for a while. The videos of the Cintiq seemed incredible & I was prepared for there to be some 'it seemed too good to be true' when we got it going. However, it is everything they advertised. I was surprised. My wife loves it. The initial setup was very easy. The unit isn't that heavy, but it is a little awkward trying to get out of the box. Once we sat it on her desk though, it was easy to move around & adjust. I plugged it into her computer & installed the included software (including the Adobe & Corel freebies) and she was off to the races.

While learning to use Photoshop can be daunting, the unit itself is very simple to use & even I (If you know a person who is horrible at art, I am even less talented) was able to make a simple drawing with the included sketchpad software. Obviously it is not a cheap drawing interface, but my wife & daughter use it every day, with each wishing they had more time on it. I was somewhat apprehensive when I was looking at getting it, but knowing how well it works & how much they love it, I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Aside from its high cost, I have absolutely no complaints with it.

If you are wondering about computer specs, I would say the computer I built my wife has medium performance (might be equal to a $600-700 rig purchased at a retail store).

• Win7 x64

• AMD II quad-core

• 4 gb ddr3

• GT 220 (1gb ddr3 ram)

• Cintiq as the only display

With this setup she was able to run all of the included art software & draw with no lag or jitters.

For her desk, she needs to run 2 monitors & some other programs while still leaving the drawing software running. I am currently upgrading her system to a solid-state drive, 16gb of ram & a video card with dual DVI outs in the hopes of preempting any system bottlenecks.
