With advanced Intel core processors, Hyper-Threading technology, and Turbo Boost 2.0, the Mac mini can muscle through even the most processing-intensive tasks. Intel Iris Graphics or HD Graphics 5000 deliver graphics performance that’s 90% better than that of the previous-generation Mac mini, so you can expect video-editing and gameplay to be smoother and lag-free. This desktop even comes with Thunderbolt 2 and 802.11ac WiFi, enabling the fastest data transfers and Internet connections.

Even with all these high-performance capabilities, the Mac mini 2014 remains to be the smallest Apple desktop today, measuring just an inch and a half tall. Its compact enclosure is precisely machine-carved from a solid block of aluminum, so the Mac mini is as sleek as it is powerful.

Mac Mini is the most affordable Apple desktop!

Mac Mini is indeed the most affordable Apple desktop that I saw, encountered and experience so far that gave me the Apple desktop experience I direly needed when I had encountered some financial and technical problems.

I am an independent blogger who lives with boyfriend for 5 years now. We both have jobs and gadgets. But the only gadget we shared in common and most of the time is the desktop in our flat. We love to use it as our way of giving your smartphones and laptops a rest from a heavy, busy and demanding grind from our everyday.

But some unfortunate event happened and our lovely desktop laid to rest after his almost 5 years of catering to our needs. We are very sad about it, but we need to have a new one yet we are having some financial problems lately. So we just thought of experimenting.

We decided to get a Mac Mini since the only ones that laid to rest in our desktop is the screen and the central processing unit. My boyfriend and I checked online stores for promos and low cost Mac Mini because we are really in some sort of financial crisis that we really need to tighten our belts. We delve into sites and stumbled upon the MacMall site.

And so we ordered from MacMall a Mac Mini that suits out budget very well. The service and delivery all in one pleased us as well. Now we are presently using the Mac Mini with our preferred (some are old) computer parts.

Mac Mini is for the family

I am a wife, and a mother of twins, both in their 8th grade. We are all tech heads in the family so we could not afford not having a desktop or a laptop at home. Our first desktop that lasted for 5 years already laid to rest just this week and we are in dire need of a new one. Yet, we are in a tight budget plus the only thing that died in our old comrade is the CPU, the screen, mouse, keyboard, headphones and speakers are still working since it was just a year old.

Our family decided to just purchase a Mac Mini. And because I told earlier that we are a family of tech heads, we knew how Mac Mini works and it is indeed the best thing for us.

We have to meet halfway here though: meeting the budget as well the urgency to have the device. We all agreed to do our assignment in each and everyone’s mobile phones as to where we are going to purchase the Mac Mini. And yes, we did this on a Saturday night because we also decided to order it the day after which is Sunday. Online purchase is our preference because it is fast.

The family came into a decision of purchasing immediately to MacMall over breakfast on Sunday. Thanks much MacMall for having delivered the device on time, just in time for the busy weekdays. Indeed, Mac Mini is for all the members of the family.

Mac mini

This is, so far, the best computer that I had bought for my work. I’m not in the habit of spending a lot of bucks for my workstation. I believed that my skills are enough so why am I going to invest in something right? (I know, I know! I’m guilty!)

Anyway, because my co-workers bugs me about it, and because I’m partly afraid that the continuous flow of new and demanding clients will probably set my life on fire, I decided to give in and buy my very first investment. I bought my Mac Mini. 

I choose Mac Mini because first, I can assemble all the best things in order to have a super-Workstation! Second, it has a lot of positive reviews. And third, I like its minimalistic appearance because I also have some serious issues with space. LOL. All in all, I like this product the most because it caters to my needs as a graphic artist and well, a freelancer.

Let me tell you this, the first time I used it, it’s already love at first use! It’s so amazing and wonderful because it’s so fast and powerful. I don’t have a hard time loading my space-eating software. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other apps are more synchronized and don’t show any lags or slowness. What kind of magic is that?

So yeah. To those who are as stubborn as me, believe me, this is the time that you should make your switch. I assure you, it’s worth it!

The Mini superb device, Mac Mini

I am a freelance video editor whose bread and butter come from the work of my creativity and my desktop. All along, I’ve been using my old desktop at home and sometimes, the desktop in the computer lab in the University that has a mac mini. After months, I came to realized and compare my outputs with the desktop at home and the desktop in the computer lab in the University that has a mac mini, and that’s the time when I decided that I needed to upgrade my system at home, so I purchased a Mac Mini.

In all honesty, when I have some free time, I spend it sleeping, and on that note I really don’t have enough time to shop at physical stores. As for my purchase of Mac mini, I asked about online stores that can give me a fresh product with a good service, and some of my friends at the University advised me to check out MacMall.

And I did. Called up MacMall hotline and placed an order of a Mac Mini. The sales representative was very nice she did all the explaining and sorts for me to understand how the MacMall online store works. After that transaction, the delivery went well. Box is sealed and the product is definitely new and fresh. Thanks, MacMall!

Mac Mini is… superb! Would never regret having upgraded into this one It helped me did a lot of great outputs and gave me a smoother workflow.

This is my second Mac mini. The first went to my husband to replace the PC that has just died. I am a senior citizen and the Mac mini gives me all I need in a space saving unit. I use the Apple support chat when I run into trouble with downloads, etc., and they are GREAT. My only complaint about my new Mac mini is it does not have a port for discs and I must get all of my games from downloads, which is a little more confusing for me. Overall, I would not trade it.

Connectivity and Speed

"I bought this Mac (1 TB Fusion drive, 8 GB RAM and 2.6 GHz i7 processor) with the intention of using it for video. I have several FireWire external hard drives and a Thunderbolt external hard drive. I can connect them all, including daisy-chaining the Firewire. The SD card slot makes importing videos easy from a camcorder. This Mac seems to handle iMovie videos well, with little or no lag during skimming. It seems to provide comparable performance as the MacBook Pro it replaced.

I had to get a new monitor, so I made sure it had an HDMI input. Connecting was easy. Unfortunately, I also had to purchase an external optical drive (to burn DVDs). I still need to get a camera/mic, but that can wait a while. So far, so good. The only problem was pairing the magic trackpad, but I got it to finally pair by removing the batteries, turning off BT and turning BT back on. Then I had to hold the power button on the trackpad until it finally paired with the Mac mini. This is the 8th Mac our family has purchased, and we have been extremely happy. "

Apple Mac Mini

Just what I needed. I’ve been using an old Power PC for years and this allowed me to use all my old equipment in a lot less space. I’m still learning about Mountain Lion, but I’ll get there. Excellent product by Apple and service from this store as usual.

Newest Mac mini – 5 stars

I’ve wanted to try using a Mac for the longest time. I went for a Mac mini because I’m more comfortable with using a desktop than a laptop and the unibody setup of an iMac makes me slightly nervous.

I’m glad I chose a Mac mini because, first, setup was incredibly easy. I barely had to do any configuration to set it up with my widescreen Samsung monitor. I was originally planning to go for the model with 4GB RAM, but my boyfriend said that I’d greatly benefit from the 8GB RAM since I tend to like having a lot of applications open and I regularly use Lightroom and Adobe Premiere Pro. I’m glad I listened to his advice because my Mac mini hardly ever stutters when I simultaneously render videos while editing high-resolution photos and watching YouTube videos.

I also love the Mac mini’s form factor. Its size makes it perfect for even the smallest of desks, since it can easily fit under a widescreen monitor. It’s so small and lightweight that even take my Mac mini with me sometimes, when I have to make presentations to clients at the office.

Excellent home server

We’ve been using the Mac Mini as a home server for about three weeks now and it’s been a very pleasant experience. Out of the box, I’ve had to upgrade to OS X server, but the upgrade and setup were hitch-free, so no complaints there.

Right now the biggest perk for me is Profile Manager 2. We have a lot of MacBooks and iPads (a couple of each) at home and I’m thankful that I now have a way to control user settings and restrict Web surfing activity for each device, especially since the iPads are used by my pre-teen kids. Creating profiles was pretty straightforward, I was able to create unique profiles for six users in under an hour. It was also very easy to set up messaging accounts with the profiles. My kids are really wearing out those messaging functions.

The Mac Mini is also perfect as a media server. We have a 3 or 4 gigs’ worth of movies and TV shows saved up on it and my wife and kids can access those from any registered device.

Perfect desktop for me right now

This Mac mini has really been an amazing desktop for me so far. I got it a little over three weeks ago so I could finally retire my four-year-old iMac, which had been struggling to keep up with my daily workload. Right after unboxing, I ‘borrowed’ my husband’s extra widescreen monitor and hooked it up to the Mac mini, and the installation was completely hitch-free. This Mac also came with a keyboard and a mouse (which I love, thanks MacMall), so I was able to use it right away.

This is one of the fastest desktops I’ve ever owned, even without the upgrades my husband wants to install on it. I can check email, work on multiple spreadsheets, have a couple of Illustrator windows open, download podcasts from Pandora, and listen to some songs on Spotify all at the same time, without worrying about crashes. I also love that I can directly connect the iMac mini to the HDTV in our living room, perfect for movie nights or catch-up marathons.

My most reliable desktop yet

I’ve never used a Mac before and now I’m not quite sure why I hadn’t – this Mac mini is my most reliable desktop yet. At first I was a little apprehensive of connecting the mini to my Samsung monitor, thinking the two wouldn’t play well together, and fortunately I was wrong. I barely had to do any configuration to use my old monitor with the Mac mini. It works just as perfectly with my HDTV – which is great for when I want to watch movies and play games on a wider screen.

I’m not a tech-savvy person in any way. I just know that the Mac mini is the quickest computer I’ve used, no matter how many applications I have open. I’ve also recently installed Parallels so I can keep enjoying the familiar Windows interface, and I’m happy to say that the mini runs Windows 7 just as well as my previous Lenovo. My friend recommends swapping out the stock HD with an SSD to make my Mac mini even faster, but I’m enjoying the 1 TB of space too much to give it up.

Mac mini – great media center

I recently bought a Mac mini, planning to hook it up to our living room TV and use it as a media server of sorts, so my kids would stop using my iMac whenever they have to catch up with episodes of Gravity Falls or Adventure Time or some other cartoon show online. My plan worked beautifully. I transferred all of my kids’ stuff onto the Mac mini, taught my kids how to use the mini, and used HDMI to connect the computer to our living room TV. My kids haven’t touched my iMac since. The 1 TB of storage space on this Mac mini seems to be sufficient for their downloads.

Whenever my kids don’t use it, my wife uses the Mac mini for web browsing and email, as well as viewing and uploading the photos and videos she likes to take of the kids. She’s always commenting on how fast it is and how quickly it loads online videos. I’ve used it myself a couple of times, and was surprised by how snappy its response is. I barely had to wait after I click the mouse. Overall, we’ve been very satisfied with the Mac mini’s overall speed.

GREAT things come in small packages!

I'm a recording engineer and producer and have an annual gig recording a very cool music festival near Dallas. After last year, my MacBook Pro gave up the ghost and I just couldn't see spending the money to fix or replace it. The problem I had was that what ever I purchased in replacement HAD to have a firewire port to work with my recording hardware. I guess the PC manufacturers have decided that FireWire is a pre-historic technology that no one uses anymore... guess again.

Long story short, I ended up purchasing the MacBook Pro, dual core Intel i5 with 4gb of ram. This little fella is surprisingly small in form factor which is GREAT for mobile recording... the smaller the footprint we take up the better.

This baby mac had all of the performance (more than my macBook Pro) that I needed and more! It made it through the very long weekend without a hiccup and proved to be very reliable and easy to work with!

After purchasing and using this, I plan to replace a couple of other computers around the house and studio with a couple of these!

Mac with great versatility

I love the Mac mini primarily because of its versatility. The stock 4GB RAM and 500GB HDD powered me through the first month of use or so, then I ran into some issues because of lags and insufficient storage space. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I could upgrade the Mac myself without much hassle – there’s even a button I could press to access the HDD and RAM modules. Ever since I upgraded the stock HDD to an OCZ SSD and added 8GB of RAM, my Mac mini’s been unstoppable.

This Mac works seamlessly with my old ViewSonic monitor, so I didn’t have to spring for a Thunderbolt display, which isn’t exactly cheap. I’ve also been using my Mac mini as a digital player of sorts. I use the same Thunderbolt-to-DVI adapter that connects the mini to the monitor to hook the mini up to our Vizio Smart TV. Works perfectly in that setup too.

Mac mini quad-core Intel Core i7: Awesome little machine!

I had a first generation Intel iMac for the last six years, mainly because I was holding out for a 27" iMac and wouldn't settle for a Mini. Well this generation of Mac Mini isn't settling, though the monitor I have isn't as good as a 27" Apple monitor. It's bigger though, so that's something.

I have an i5 dual-core laptop provided by work and a home-built AMD 4.2GHz quad-core Win7 machine that are also connected to the same monitor and keyboard, so I have ample time to compare them with each other.

The quad-i7 in the Mini smokes the laptop hands down. The Mini is about twice as fast in general, and even faster on the graphics side of the fence. I haven't played any games on my laptop, so I can't compare it in that regard, but it's a work computer, not meant for games anyway.

The AMD machine is slightly slower in some areas, though it's really just a gaming machine so I don't do much with it day-to-day, but I did some work on it just to compare. It's only barely noticeable, but especially with Photoshop I could tell. The AMD is better for games, though; it's an APU but I already had a pretty good video card which I'm using (Radeon 5570) which while far from top of the line is enough to run Diablo III on high level graphics while the Mini has to go mid-level.

The transfer of data from my old iMac went without a hitch and it hit the ground running. I don't love it as much as I did the iMac when it was as new, but it's close. It's just plain awesome, if you don't mind a little 80s lingo. And having 16GB of RAM is such a relief after living with 3GB for so long.

I highly recommend the Fusion Drive that I got with mine; I have an older Mini with a 5400 RPM drive and that was one reason I didn't switch to a Mini for so long. The iMac is 2.16GHz and the old Mini 2GHz, but the Minis is half the speed at best in many fairly common operations. This Fusion Drive just makes that fear irrelevant. I haven't noticed a single issue with the many large copies and other disk-intensive operations I've done so far, though I daresay the initial copy from the iMac to the Mini would've been much faster with a 7200rpm drive. Still, it works pretty smart, and overall I'm loving it.

The only real problem I've hit is that the Blu-Ray writer I put into an external case to work with my Mini is not Mac compatible. Should've done the research BEFORE buying it, but I swapped it back into my AMD machine so it's not a total waste.

I recommend the new quad-i7 Mini with a Fusion Drive very highly. It is a whole lot of power in a very small package.

Mac mini: Great Media Server

I wanted a Mac mini with a SSD, but I really didn't want to take a risk installing it myself. Adding a SSD to the midlevel i5 model or the server model costs the same. For my use the AMD graphics really wouldn't benefit me so I went for the quad core server model. Way overkill for what essentially is an always-on iTunes server, but converting DVDs for iTunes with Handbrake should fly on this machine. Setup was very easy, since I really didn't need to worry about any of Lion's server settings. I swapped out the memory, which was quite easy.

With the standard 4GB memory the boot time was 17 seconds and I got a 32bit Geekbench score of 8350. With 8GB memory the boot time is still 17 to 20 seconds and the 32bit Geekbench score is 8750.

I have the system next to the TV in the living room, it looks very much like the Apple TV v1 that it replaces, but stays cool to the touch. I haven't noticed any noise from the unit, but the media on an external hard drive I do hear when it spins up. The unit got just a little warm when I copied 400GB of iTunes media onto the external hard drive, but otherwise I probably don't even have it breaking a sweat.

It's really nice having my iTunes content always available to 2 Apple TV's and 3 systems being fed with the Airport Express throughout the house! Also, ordering was great! I received this special order server in a week and a half.

Mac Mini quad core - 1TB Fusion Drive

I'm using the new mini as I write the review. It is very fast. I primarily use it for Photo Shop with a 23" Apple Cinema display. I would estimate based on a number of programs that it is 5 times faster than my old work horse dual processor Mac G5. With the new fusion drive it boots up in about 15 seconds and recent programs open almost immediately.
Cost me a great deal to upgrade all my programs but it should be worth it in the future. I used an external hard drive to transfer about 200GB of files from the G5. I don't do games so the graphic processor works fine for Photo Shop, etc. I estimate that it took me about 8 to 10 hours to get everything set up over a couple of days. I was on the internet with my home network with in the 1st hour.

Fast!

Bought this to replace a 2008 Mac Pro for CAD and graphics work. Upgraded with 16 gb 3rd party RAM. Wow! Fusion is so fast. I was a little concerned about integrated graphics for my application, but so far so good. Graphics work noticeably better w/ more RAM, even in non-work applications. I didn't realize how loud the Mac Pro was until I was switching between the two; the silence of the mini is such a relief. Does heat up pretty fast under heavy load, so it remains to be seen how it fairs with tasks that max out all cores for extended periods.

Very good accessory computer

BThe Mac Mini is a very capable computer for small tasks, I am bothered by e fact that it no longer includes a CD/DVD Super Drive, as my last one was very useful for making both CDs and DVDs on the network while my workstation did other work (like video editing).

We are using this one for light word processing and may do light photo pre-processing after a RAM upgrade. It is wireless-ready and comes with a monitor adapter that allows you to use a non-Apple monitor. Since we "re-purposes" an Apple monitor with a mini-display port, we can confirm that the Thunderbolt port in this Mac Mini will work with older Apple Mini-Display port monitors, such as the 24" LED Cinema Display, which is what we have ours hooked up to. Apple no longer sells this display.

We recommend the Mac Mini with the following reservations:

Anything you plan to install on this computer will need to either come from the Apple Store, or you will need to get of share an external CD/DVD drive to install new software. You may need an external CD/DVD drive anyway if you plan on burning discs with a Mac Mini (a use we had for our last one). iFixit rates the Mac Mini an 8 out of 10 for repairability. The only negatives are that you have to take the entire thing apart to replace the power supply and the processor is soldered onto the motherboard and, thus, may not be upgraded.

All in all a good buy. Especially if the price drops. We looked at earlier versions of the Mini with SuperDrives and found that buying this new one was actually MORE affordable than customizing an older one to include what this has stock.

Basic Mac Mini a Hit!

This replaced a G5 iMac that was pushing 7 years old. It seems blazingly fast compared to that old one. Right out of the box it worked like champ. It hooked right up to my old wireless bluetooth keyboard. The old computer would take up to a min to recognize and sync with my keyboard but the new Mini worked instantly. I ordered the mini display port adapter to hook up a new Viewsonic monitor via DVI. It connected right away and at 1920x1080.

I used the migration program from my old mac running 10.6 to this running 10.8 without a hitch. I got Parallels for a couple a Windows programs not available on the Mac. I don’t use it much but if I did I think I’d want 8GB of ram. 4 does well enough for seldom use but I notice the speed difference. All-in-all a great buy. Having used it now for a few weeks I would buy it all over again through your store. Fast shipping, full rebate on Parallels, great discount on the Mini.

Apple Mac mini dual-core Intel Core i5 i5 2.5GHz

The Mac mini is a fantastic computing product to build a small company processing system on. The mini is small but has all the processing facilities required to fulfill my computing requirements. And, being an Apple product ensures quality and best design in the field. My business computing requirements are supported with Apple products (iPhone, iPad and Mac mini). so I needed an Apple computing system to continue to support my Apple applications without breaking the bank....and that product was the Apple Mac mini. Absolutely the best way to enjoy an Apple computer for less than a nine hundred dollars, including keyboard, mouse and monitor!

Desktops should never have been larger than this!

This is my third Mini. The form factor is perfect. Desktops should never take up room. Now with the ease of customizing its perfect. After market RAM is cheap "fill it up". I also clone the hard drive onto a Seagate Momentus XT Hybrid drive and swap out the drive before I start to use the Mini. This gives me the performance of a solid state drive without the cost. Storage size is 500 to 750GB. The other benefit with maxing out the ram and upgrading the hard drive is I can purchase the lower performance Mini and make it scream for around $200.00. So the entry level Mini is always for me. When it’s time to upgrade I re-use the hard drive recycle the mini for around $110.00 so it brings the total cost down. Way Down! Offered here at a slightly discounted price and delivered on time. The store also followed up and offered any support if needed. Thanks!

A Simple yet powerful package!

I was waiting for the new release of mac mini since several days, as the last model was more than a year old. With a quad core 2.3 Ghz i7 processor, this is a power horse in a little package. The included 4 GB RAM is sufficient for general consumer desktop applications. I may upgrade the RAM to 8 or 16 GB, as I generally do graphics related work. I was hoping apple to come up with 8GB RAM with this model, as the base model has been upgraded from 2 to 4 GB with this release.

The Included 1 TB HDD is more than sufficient for storing lots of music, photos and documents. What I like the most in this unit is the ability to upgrade its components yourself, unlike other apple products, which cannot be opened by the user. Thanks to Apple for a simple desktop solution.

Amazed at Mac mini

Listen, so far, I haven't put this "little giant" to the test but, I couldn't ask for a better machine. I had never owned a MAC before but am glad that I finally purchased one. I chose the MAC Mini because of its size and construction.

The PC's that I had always bought seemed to be boxes that never had any particular design with more air inside than components. They have all been typically of one approach that "big looking" was more attractive. After holding the Mini in my hands and really looking it over, my conclusion is, it truly is a "cutting edge" design, sorry for the pun, THAT WORKS!!!!! Apple has impressed me. I am a very happy owner.
