Fast, cheap, and reliable.

I put it through the washing machine and dryer and it's been working fine.

Big bad storage

I can keep everything I have on this flash drive! It’s quicker and holds more than I could possibly ever need, but likely will use. The price was definitely right, too. Thanks!

128GB FLASH DRIVE

This thing is awesome. I cannot believe that they make a 128GB flash drive when that was considered the normal only years ago. Great product and drivers load flawlessly on Windows 7. Thanks!

What else: 128Gig and great price. Integrated cap would be nice but no biggie.

Good Product but Slower than my Last Thumb Drive

2013-02-06
By Carl

I needed a relatively large thumb drive like this one to hold a backup copy of my documents, photos, and music from my iMac. This drive has a high-quality look and feel and is working fine after the setup steps mentioned below. Following are the thoughts that lead me to give it only 4 stars instead of 5.

(1) I expected a product ordered from MacMall would in fact be compatible with Macs. Out of the box, this drive was not compatible with my Mac. It came formatted as NFTS file system (I hope I got that acronym right), which my iMac would not recognize. A call to MacMall tech support resulted in reformatting the drive to MS-DOS (FAT-32) format. This process worked out OK, but I was disappointed that it was necessary. I expected a thumb drive to be "plug and play".

(2) The read and write speed of this drive is noticeably slower than the 32 GB HP drive it replaced.

(3) This is really a "nit", but the drive should have been designed so that when the cap is removed it can be stored on the other end of the drive (as it was on my old, trusty HP drive). The cap on this DataBank drive just becomes a loose piece of hardware subject to being lost. A minor annoyance.

Bottom line- this drive satisfies my needs, and I really admire the high-quality feel of the material it's made of, apparently some kind of plastic that has a slightly soft feel, like this is the Lexus of thumb drives. But it could have been perfect if it didn't have the three characteristics noted above.
