Apple TV

2012-07-24
By Ken Krauss

Once I got an HDMI cable and an adapter (my HD TV is older and has no HDMI input) this worked quite well. It is great to be able to share YouTube videos, movies on my computer, and iTunes music with my wife through our TV set and stereo system. Her first generation iPad also is capable of sharing some things with AirPlay, though it is more limited than I have heard later iPads are and is incapable of mirroring her screen.

It was somewhat disappointing that the set up in the box does not include an HDMI cable, which is necessary to connect it. It would have been nice to have been informed of this more clearly when I ordered it so I could have gotten it at the same time, and I was disappointed in the delay it took to hook it up because I needed to purchase the cable. That being said, I am pleased with this item.

Apple TV Purchase

2012-07-10
By Sue

This was bought for my husband for Fathers Day. He has facetimed our son so we could see our grandson and it was nice seeing him on our 50" television through the apple tv. We are still trying to see all of our pictures that we have on the computer. Not sure what we are doing wrong. But as a whole, are enjoying the item.

Apple Quality

2012-05-09
By CW

We've had the product for a week and it is great. We will add more apps and understand its capabilities more and more I am sure. One thing I am sure we will also find out is how to keep the remote from affecting our iMac which is in the same room. Every time we change a channel it turns on Front Row or iTunes and starts a movie or song.

Good, but waiting on Mountain Lion

2012-04-03
By Jim

Still limited in what it can do if you don't have NetFlix or renting videos on iTunes. The Mountain Lion features will bring this "hobby" into it's own this summer, when I can mirror my Powerbook on the TV. Worth the $99 if you don't have an AppleTV already.

OK but

Ok, but Very limited instructions. Would not do what my main purpose was, which was to bring up the internet on the tv so that my wife who has a vision problem could continue to do "emails".

Not too good

2014-08-12
By Paul

Perhaps it was this individual Apple TV, but the one we received lost connectivity with our router more than 6 times per movie on Netflix. In comparison, our friends Roku 3 never lost the connection over several movies - all factors being the same.

All the Apple functions with the unit worked just great but after all, if it loses connectivity so often it doesn’t serve its purpose.

The store was great with the return with a prompt prepaid return shipping label and a very prompt credit to our card.

Would shop at this store again.
