I always get AppleCare whenever I buy an Apple product. Even though I'm an knowledgeable long-time computer user, sometimes something comes up that stumps me. I like having access to phone support whenever I need it, & for my needs I've found it to be worth the price versus paying for per-incident support or spending hours bumbling around with the sometimes complicated process of trying to find a simple solution. I'm usually on the phone with someone who can help me within about a minute of calling, & on the rare occasions that follow-up is required they're generally very good with calling &/or sending emails when they say they will. I've found that if I get a case # for any continuing issue, the next person I speak with is able to pick up efficiently based on notes from previous contact(s).
I wish they had a 3-year option on iPad, rather than just 2 years, & an option that covered accidental damage such as free screen replacement (w/AppleCare screen replacement is $50).
