The All-in-One Computer is a version of the desktop computer that has a twist.
The conventional notion of a desktop sees a computer tower housing the internal components like the hard drive storage, chipsets, and the processor, with the peripherals like a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers connected to it.
In contrast, an all-in-one computer houses every component, save for the keyboard and the mouse, within a casing that also contains the monitor. Compared to the conventional desktop, it makes for a smaller overall profile, which opens up space for other use. Some of these can even be mounted, which frees up additional space.
One advantage that exists in having an All-In-One is its ease of use. Normally, a desktop would arrive still unassembled, with the user having to pair the right cable with the right component. There also exists the possibility of a missing component, which could render the desktop being unusable.
In contrast, All-In-One computers are virtually plug-and-play, with the ports are easily accessible to connect peripherals and accessories to. Also helping its user-friendliness is its simple interfaces.
In addition, using an All-In-One computer reduces the dilemma on cables to a minimum, as it resulted in just using the power cable, especially if one is using Bluetooth-powered peripherals.
Some of these feature multi-touch screens, which enables users to manipulate the screen like they do with tablets.
The most prominent version of the All-In-One computer is arguably the Apple iMac, which was first introduced way back in 1998. Of course, there are other versions that run on Windows based from the different manufacturers, whether from Lenovo, HP, Dell, and ASUS, or any other.
